He's fine. He did a post-fight interview in the ring.Originally posted by Zool View PostLooks like he got rocked about 1:40 and never recovered. Wobbly feet and all. Then he had both hands down and stepped right into that punch. Any word if he's OK?
But Zool....what fight were you watching? Manny was fine for 2 minutes and 59 seconds and then.....boom...he's coming in and got hit with a punch he said he didn't see.
Manny did hit the deck in the 3rd but then dropped Marquez in the 5th. It was going to be another close fight. This was the fourth time these guys have squared off. These guys are warriors and come to fight.
It's just too bad Manny and Mayweather couldn't have fought a couple of years ago. Now that "Super Fight" ain't super any longer.

I just re-watched the clip. At 1:32 he takes a combo that puts him back on his heels. 1:29 you can see he felt it. After that, he's lunging, off balance, and his feet are too far apart. He shuffles his feet weird a few separate times after that.Originally posted by 3irty1This is museum quality stupidity.

Manny was done before the fight. He has other concerns his life now that rank much higher than the squared circle....and when that happens you need to hang it up....or you get your clock cleaned.
Mayweather NEVER had any intention of fighting Manny...never. He might now though
He had to much to lose...he was already considered the best pound for pound fighter in the world and was super rich.....he had to much to lose for glory.

Has nothing to do with UFC. "Professional" boxing died years before the UFC became popular, and while the former certainly helped the latter, they are not correlative. Boxing cards have become more of a social extravaganza than a sporting event over the last couple decades, in part because there was less true competition than your typical WWE match, and in part because the boxers themselves have even less charisma than wrastlin's most annoying archetypes.Originally posted by MadtownPacker View PostYeah, just doesn't compare to the fatalities in UFC.
So, yeah, if you get excited paying $60.00 for a few hours of bland men each with anywhere from 1 to sixty-four "championship" belts playing out predictable scripts (after 10 minute ring entrances) delivered by "judges" that not even actually winning the bout can overcome, then I guess boxing is awesome. And exciting. So exciting."You're all very smart, and I'm very dumb." - Partial
