let me set this up. in english soccer you have a very cool system where the 3 worst teams in the top division are relegated every year and replaced with the 3 top teams from the second division. and this happens with all 57 divisions in england. so a little tiny shitty team actually has a chance of playing with/against the big boys one day.
so, in the second division, the top two teams after the season automatically get promoted. the next 4 best teams have a playoff with the winner becoming the third team to join the top division.
each round of the playoffs are two games, one at home, one away
in this series (first round of the playoff) Leicester city won the first game 1-0. in the second game watford was leading 2-1. meaning the aggregate score was all tied up at 2-2.
it went deep into extra time when a penalty was called on watford giving Leicester an almost certain penalty goal and a victory and moving on to the next round.
the home watford crowd was dejected.
