  • R.I.P. Harold Ramis

    http://www.chicagotribune.com/entert...,2259309.story

He was great in Stripes and Ghostbusters, but I'll always remember him for his work at SCTV.

    I can't run no more
    With that lawless crowd
While the killers in high places
    Say their prayers out loud
But they've summoned, they've summoned up
    A thundercloud
They're going to hear from me - Leonard Cohen

Good. He was a terrible person.

Lines off the top of my head

Your theories are the worst form of popular tripe, your methods are sloppy, and your conclusions are highly suspect. You are a very poor scientist, Dr. Veckman.
      But the kids love us!

I collect spores, molds and fungus

      print is dead

      Let's get a brain sample....

      Groundhog Day:

No spots, no blots, no lesions, at least as far as I can tell.

Ned Ryerson? Needlenose Ned, Ned the head, case western High? Got the shingles real bad senior year and almost didn't graduate? Did the singing belly button trick at the talent show? I dated your sister mary-pat until you told me not to anymore? Bing!

      I sell insurance.
      What a shock

Don't you have a line for celebrities or emergencies? I'm both, I'm a celebrity in an emergency.

I dunno Gus, what would you do if you woke up, every day was the same and nothing that you did mattered?
That about sums it up for me...

      My old fiancé...doesn't remember me...

Sorry Skin, but to my way of thinking, Groundhog Day was his Magnum Opus, and it's a favorite, even if the guy is (was) a jerk...

I was just kidding. I don't know him any better than anyone else. Although I am always torn when someone croaks. I understand trying to allow someone to have dignity in their death, but a lot of the time that means people try to wipe away all their sins and pretend they were someone they weren't. So whatever. I'm ambivalent. We all die. He made more use of his life than a lot of folks. Good for him. Even if he might have been a jerk.

RIP. He was part of some of the funniest stuff to come to the screen in the last 40 years.
