Hey, please put the "First Love" in another thread. I still have fond memories of my first love. Yes, some of us guys, believe it or not you female posters, do have affectionate feelings towards our old girl friends.
The first QB I remember seeing is Bart Starr in 1959. That was the year Lombardi lead the Packers to a 7-5 after an 1-11 season with Scooter McLean as coach.
Keep in mind that the QB called all the plays back then. I remember both my father and grandfather speaking in awed admiration at this young QB from Alabama making successful, unpredictable calls. I also remember that if Bart Starr had to run out of bounds because his receivers were covered, he always sought out a defender to hit just as he reached the sideline.
