We did so take Caen Joemailman. and with extreme bravery and did so inspite of heavy loss's and got that done within a week July 3, 1944 to July 9. 1944..... and you should note without any American help. In fact we did that dirty work so T to free the Americans to break out from their positions. The Canadians waged this fierce part of the War confronting the best of the enemy's troops.

We took Caen (July 8 and 9 ,1944) Vs the worst Bad Ass assembly of German armed forces in (according to WW II Experts the fiercest battle in WW II history).

German General Keller's mustered assembly of four battalions of infantry backed up by an armoured regiment (the fearsome 12th SS) and every available piece of artillery. The Canadians fought fiercely and bravely.

It was a Canadian Maritime brigade .... the Nova Scotia Highlanders that finally got it done against the worst opposition by the Germans. Yup Maritimes like my Dad. When I think that battle and of the horrible loss of life it breaks my heart.

The Price of Freedom that Canada paid was significant. Yet through determination The North Nova Scotia Highlanders managed to take Authie on July 08, 1944, and the 9th Brigade captured an SS headquarters after a harsh struggle.

The following day, July 9, 1944, the Canadians carefully cleared Caen of its snipers, mines, and booby traps.among the mounds of debris, that too took the lives of good men.

Altogether, more Canadians were killed and wounded liberating the city of Caen than on D-Day itself.

I'm one Canadian therefore unable to assess what ALL Canadians think and the question you pose RE: Being Gay.

1.3% — The percentage of Canadians aged 18 to 59 who reported in 2014 that they consider themselves to be bisexual.

I wouldn't expect Canadian Gays to think that way. The Montreal Gay Pride (2 weeks of celebration and Gay Pride) it seems to me is a widely popular event as a lot goes on in the Gay Village that's entertaining to many (Gay or not).

The Montreal Gay Pride Parade is hugely attended by the general public as an attraction. It's a parade with a lot of color.

Now some homophobes might be terribly offended by any reference to Gayness?
