OTTAWA - " ...The Trudeau government has yet to respond to an offer by Russia to dispatch massive water bombers and fire fighting specialists to battle the growing inferno around Fort McMurray, Alta.

The proposal was made late last week by Vladimir Puchkov, the Russian minister of emergency measures.

A spokesman for Russia's embassy in Ottawa, Kirill Kalinin, said Sunday that they continue to stand "ready to help our Canadian partners to fight the ongoing wildfires in Alberta. ..."

I just posted a Video in the Incredible News Stories thread RE: a fight between a large water snake and a huge catfish witnessed by more than a few men out that day on the Colorado River. We're not sure which won that battle?

If the fire is the snake the total effort to seduce that fire (s) is the catfish.

The Fort McMurray Fires now covers an area reported to be twice the area of the city of Calgary and moving eastwardly and rapidly towards the Provincial border of Saskatchewan where member of Packerrats, Upnorth resides.

“We have not seen the predicted movement of the large fires in Alberta towards Saskatchewan. They are stable there in terms of their movement, which is a relief for us in the northwest part of the province,” said Duane McKay, the province’s commissioner of emergency management.

The fires remained about 50 kilometres west of the nearest Saskatchewan community.

The size of the fire area is still growing. It now has covered a burnt area of 229,000 Hectares... Tuesday May 10,2016. On Monday of this week the area that fire covered was 204,000 hectares.
