  • Augmented Reality

I am coming around to believe that Augmented Reality is going to fundamentally change the world and all of our lives.

    What say you?

I thought this was going to be a confession.

Depends. What are you augmenting it with? And what do you augment? Can you augment smells? If you cannot augment my farts then I have absolutely no interest in your latest gadget.

The ARKit demos from Apple are blowing my mind, and that's with 1-2 year old mobile phone form factor hardware.

I can only imagine what sort of madness Magic Leap has created with their very expensive hardware.

The world is about to get really crazy and open up a new set of possibilities. Digitally created items in the real world are going to change a lot of things I have a hunch.

And to think, this is two years old!

It's easy to see why Magic Leap has I believe raised more money than any company... well, ever.

Not the kind of augment I was thinking of. I wanted something more on the order of an olfactory megaphone.

The more I look at it the more it seems like we've inserted ourselves into an informercial thread for fucking apple. Ishmael, are you getting paid to do this or has it just ingrained itself in your psyche?

That's getting close but, once again, augmentation and masking are TWO DIFFERENT THINGS, people.

Every time you type something we can tell you are living in an "augmented reality".

Is augmented reality like Fake News?
                        I can't run no more
                        With that lawless crowd
While the killers in high places
                        Say their prayers out loud
But they've summoned, they've summoned up
                        A thundercloud

Look at the Twitter. Some of the examples are seriously mind bending. Landing a space X rocket at your house? Having miniature men playing hoops? The measuring tape being accurate! How on earth do they do that! Getting scale with a single camera is really hard is my understanding. It's unbelievable!
