Here's an incorrect answer I have an issue with:
That females have a weaker sex drive than men is…
--A physical fact
--A cultural misconception
--A rumor started in the 1950s
Question 7 of 10
My incorrect answer was "A physical fact," and here's why:
Testosterone
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Testosterone is a steroid hormone from the androgen group. Testosterone is primarily secreted in the testes of males and the ovaries of females although small amounts are secreted by the adrenal glands. It is the principal male sex hormone and an anabolic steroid. In both males and females, it plays key roles in health and well-being. Examples include enhanced libido, energy, immune function, and protection against osteoporosis. On average, the adult male body produces about twenty times the amount of testosterone than an adult female's body does[1].

OK, so you expect me to believe that an adult male has up to 20x the amount of hormone that an adult female does, and this hormone has an effect of enhancing libido, that male and female sex drives are the same???
Common sense dictates that they aren't. Life experience indicates (to ME, anyway) that they aren't.
Discuss. (and sorry for the spoiler
)

Iron Mike,
While it is true that men secrete testosterone in far greater amounts than women, let's not forget that women secrete estrogen in far greater amounts than men. Estrogen is a hormone that is linked to sexual drive.
As far as the bearded lady goes, I'll be damned if I will go with a woman who can have a better beard than me!

Estrogen
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Functions of estrogens
structural
promote formation of female secondary sex characteristics
stimulate endometrial growth
increase uterine growth
maintenance of vessel and skin
reduce bone resorption, increase bone formation
protein synthesis
increase hepatic production of binding proteins
coagulation
increase circulating level of factors 2,7,9,10, antithrombin III, plasminogen
increase platelet adhesiveness
lipid
increase HDL, triglyceride, fat deposit
decrease LDL
fluid balance
salt and water retention
gastro-intestinal tract
reduce bowel motility
increase cholesterol in bile
Studies have found better correlation between sexual desire and androgen levels than for estrogen levels.
In the original text, there is a link on androgen....which redirects you to:
Androgen is the generic term for any natural or synthetic compound, usually a steroid hormone, that stimulates or controls the development and maintenance of masculine characteristics in vertebrates by binding to androgen receptors. This includes the activity of the accessory male sex organs and development of male secondary sex characteristics. Androgens, which were first discovered in 1936, are also called androgenic hormones or testoids. Androgens are also the original anabolic steroids. They are also the precursor of all estrogens, the female sex hormones. The primary and most well-known androgen is testosterone.sigpic
