I know this is going to make me look like a complete bitch, but playing PS3 on a 56" DLP 1080p is the most enlightening video game experience I've had since Super Contra and Street Fighter II were in the same arcade at the same time. Good God I'm getting old.

Hell if I know. I've only been playing Resistance: Fall of Man and the MotorStorm demo so far. I tried demos of NBA live 2007 and Gran Tourismo HD for some 1080p action, and GT is dizzying.
I'm waiting for something I want to see on Blu Ray before I buy it. Lots of people have been creaming their panties about Superman on BR, but I'm not a fan. I'm a bit discerning about actually "buying" movies, so it might be a little while before I can comment.
I'm moving up from a 34" 1080i CRT (all 230 pounds of it), and have been pleased with the rear projection (all 95 pounds of it) despite my misgivings about the technology."You're all very smart, and I'm very dumb." - Partial

On a side note, I am very displeased that Sony has told the porn industry to keep away from Blu-Ray. I don't give a shit if they cost Sony to lose the VHS-Betamax war. If I want 25 GB of HD porn (probably not a good thing), then I should be able to get it without Sony interfering!"You're all very smart, and I'm very dumb." - Partial

Nah man, THIS doesnt make you look like that at all.Originally posted by SkinBasketI know this is going to make me look like a complete bitch
For those looking for a Wii, I dont know if this applies to all stores nationwide but I have insider info that the Cali WalMarts have Wii systems waiting in the back of the store and they are going to release them on Sunday morning.

Mainly it's because Sony is still sending PS3 constantly via airplane while Nintendo has stuck to the ocean freight delivery combined with the fact that just about every US retailer has actively been hording their wii stock for Sunday releases.Originally posted by GBRulzI'm still looking everywhere to buy a Wii. I see Ps3's for sale everywhere I go, but no damn Wii's!
I would like one, but not enough to pay the $300+ dollars that people are still asking for them on eBay.
In other words, if you want a wii, you'll probably have to fight the 300 other soccer moms, teenie boppers, bums, prostitutes, and Madtown to get one when the store opens Sunday morning because they also want you to buy that new toaster that's on sale.
You can always try one of those rss feed sites that notify you when an on-line retailer has them in-stock. http://wiitracker.com/"You're all very smart, and I'm very dumb." - Partial

You think its that or the PS3 is just not selling as well? I have a hard time justifying buying a 600 dollar machine, but then again I am poor and don't play video games other than my original xbox and wouldn't consider getting another console unless I could easily pirate games and store them locally within the device ala xbox.Originally posted by SkinBasketMainly it's because Sony is still sending PS3 constantly via airplane while Nintendo has stuck to the ocean freight delivery combined with the fact that just about every US retailer has actively been hording their wii stock for Sunday releases.Originally posted by GBRulzI'm still looking everywhere to buy a Wii. I've gotta go with Partial's thinking on this one. $250 vs $600 is a huge difference. I think Sony screwed themselves with the high price tag, in combination with letting Xbox get well over a years head start. You also have to wonder if women and adult gamers getting into the video games market isn't the biggest reason why Wii is outselling PS3.
For the die-hard gamer, you probably want the PS3, but for those of us that like to have some friends over, a few cocktails and want to play a few video games without memorizing where all 8 different buttons are....Wii is that choice.
A good friend of mine bought a used PS2 last month and we've had a couple get togethers playing Dance Dance Revolution and some karoke thing. It's a riot !

While you can find PS3s on shelves now, there are still plenty of people out there looking for them, too. I hate what retailers are doing with the wii. They are getting shipments, but like I said, they hold em back to continue the Sunday circular frenzy.Originally posted by PartialYou think its that or the PS3 is just not selling as well? I understand some people wont want to spend that much on a system, but a lot of the same people find a way to justify spending 1000-2500 or more on a computer that will usually have the same lifespan (about 5 years give or take) and only be used for e-mail, porn, and occasionally a game of solitaire."You're all very smart, and I'm very dumb." - Partial

i just saw a wii the other day at pamida, they had just one sitting there. i thought about getting it for a couple seconds. but i just got a PS2 a couple weeks ago, so i figured i'd better not get it.Originally posted by GBRulzI'm still looking everywhere to buy a Wii. and i don't have the energy to use both arms while playing games, moving my fingers is enough of a workout
sony really screwed up i think. 600 is waaaaay to much for most kids to buy. and the games aren't that great, they have one decent game, thats it, the other i heard suck pretty bad and have some nasty problems. that combined with the 360 having a year head start and already putting out quite a few good games, and sony's up shit creek.
not to mention sony's stuff is put together pretty cheap. i already had to but a new ps2 controler because the first one just stopped working. i opened it up to find just chincy cheap thin plastic holding everything together. the thing fanally shocked me when i tried it out one last time, and all the buttons stopped working. the thing creeked and cracked every time you push a button, it just felt like it was made to break. now my x-box controler feels like a tank, i have no worries playing with that
well i smashed the shit out if it, and needless to see, it blew apart into a thousand little pieces thanks to all the cheap junk
that will be the last thing i buy from sony, that combined with a few tv's that have gone down the drain make me think they're products aren't worth the price anymore
