    Woooh Baby!

I am finally off dial up! GD AOL never let me hook up to PR at home for some reason. Screw them!

    Shhhhhhwinnnng! I am surfing, baby!

Now, could some of you tech savvy people explain to me why I might want to use Firefox as my browser and give me a smidge of information as to how I might go about this.

You guys rock. And in the immortal words of Jimi...

"SCUSE ME! WHILE I TOUCH THE SKY!"

    A very happy Swede.

    I suggest trying it out.

It's free. It's easy to download and install. Then, you can be the judge. It's not like it's going to affect your computer (unless you're Bretsky apparently) or make IE suddenly not work.

Tabs are awesome. It's a faster browser that renders pages more accurately. I love it.

It's a web browser like internet explorer. It dramatically cuts down on the crap like pop-ups, spyware, adaware, malware, etc. It also makes web pages load faster, and look better. Most websites are programmed to work with firefox as opposed to the non-conformist internet explorer.

The new IE7 is very much improved over IE6. Before IE7 came out, I was using Firefox as well. IE7 does all the things that Firefox does (tabbed browsing, pop up blocker, phishing filter, etc) and uses half the resources on your computer. That is one thing I hated about Firefox is that it kept locking up at times. I also had to view certain content with IE anyhow because it could not be viewed correctly in a Firefox browser.

              A browser is a browser.

Now, if my damn Vista upgrade disc would just get here!!! Bought Office 2007 tonight and installing it now I guess you could say that I have no problem with Microsoft stuff

Office 2007 looks like it's straight outta mac os x. Very aqua-y. IE7 still does not conform to Internet standards. That makes me sad. Also, Firefox has a built-in spell-check for the forums. It is pretty darn awesome. FF > IE7

                  Heh heh!

From the time I logged in and read the replies, clicked Harv's link, downloaded firefox, installed it, made it my default browser and logged back in to PR was less than eight minutes.

Downloaded the entire browser in less than 15 seconds!

Life after dial up is sweet.

Thanks for the info and advice you rats you.

For some odd reason I can't use tabs. I have to have separate windows for all the pages. I don't know why, but there is just something about tabs that annoy me.

                      Man, I'm a complete spaz.

When I hear that someone just got off of dial up I am stunned for a second....
If I had to still use dial up I would stay off the net! Nothing would ever load!

                        Wow.....

I still like the Fox more than any other Browser including IE7...I still have IE7 and use it sometimes but prefer Firefox for most tasks. I HATE how favorites are set up in IE7.

                        Safari blows.....

Go into options and set it not to open a new window for every page...only a new tab.

I gotta thank Partial for convincing me to try FF last summer. It truly is a superior browser. Pages load faster and depending on how good your videocard and monitor are you can see a huge difference in colors and details for websites.

Its about the only thing Partial has ever been right about!

Swede - what are you gonna do with all the free time you have now that you aint waiting on pages to load?

Yes, you are. :P I can't deal with a ton of windows, but to each their own.
