Aren't Firefox and Netscape both based off Mozilla? They are related in some way. However, Netscape fell out of favor. Firefox was released as a fresh rival to IE. At one point, Netscape was a better browser than IE, but Microsoft went all out to bury Netscape. At least, that's my understanding.

I believe Mozilla was built around the Netscape engine with a few tweaks here and there. They definitely upgraded a lot with the move to Firefox. It is definitely much, much faster now!!Originally posted by HarveyWallbangersComment
