I say Anna Nicole gets buried first.

I don't know if "The Godfather of Soul" will ever be buried. Now that he's dead he's more valuable than ever to the extended family. My guess is that some are holding out for cremation and selling small parts of his ashes as a necklace charm or something.

You know, "His music has touched your lives for decades and now you can have "The Godfather of Soul" with you wherever you go. The family of James Brown invites you to be one of the special few to honor the legacy of "The Godfather of Soul" by purchasing a limited edition charm containing the ashes of "The Hardest Working Man in Show Business."

Just imagine having the spirit of James Brown always watching over you. He'll be singing, "Living in America," when you cross the border illegally, "It's a Man's, Man's, Man's World" when you slap your wife around or "I Got You (I Feel Good)" after you've scamed the IRS and collected a check using a phony Social Security number.

A Certificate of Authenticity accompanies every charm assuring you that it's really the ashes of James Brown and not dust from bricks.

Call today in order to take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! Supplies won't last long! Our trained associates in the call center in India are waiting for your call. Just imagine, the power of "Mr. Dynamite" can be yours! YEEOOOH!"

Gotta go with "who gives a shit about Brittney & Lindsay"... if it wasn't for the media hyping the shock value of what were once seemingly innocent and cute girls next door...

Your poll should have a 5th option:

          Who The Hell Cares?
          I can't run no more
          With that lawless crowd
While the killers in high places
          Say their prayers out loud
But they've summoned, they've summoned up
          A thundercloud
They're going to hear from me - Leonard Cohen

I voted for the last one, since surely more tabloid pics are forthcoming ... and I know I'll probably have a look, even if it is at a trainwreck.

Dang, Idle. You're on to something! James Brown is bigger than Beethoven. Let's put together a proposal and present it to the family, get them to sign a counsulting contract, wait for them to break it, and then sue the estate. If they start offering the bling, bling we might start hearing the ka-ching, ka-ching.

Agreement reached over burial for James Brown
                      Wed Feb 21, 2007 11:11 AM IST

CHARLESTON, S.C. (Reuters) - The children of James Brown and his former partner have decided on where the soul singer should be buried nearly two months after he died, a lawyer said on Tuesday.

The agreement is part of a legal battle over control of the estate and assets of the singer, who died on Christmas day. It is complicated by a dispute over whether his former partner Tomi Rae Hynie Brown was legally married to him.

"The children and the wife, my client Tomi Rae Brown, have come to an agreement and they have decided that he will be buried in a decent place but it's going to be kept confidential," said attorney Robert Rosen.

"Assuming a court order is signed he could be buried in the next few days," Rosen said in an interview, adding that the burial would likely be private.

Brown wanted to be buried on his estate at Beech Island, South Carolina but ownership of the property remains in doubt, he said.

Brown, known as Godfather of Soul, was credited with bringing funk into the mainstream and his music, dance style and showmanship influenced a host of musicians including Michael Jackson and rap artists.

Tomi Rae received nothing when Brown's will was read in January but will sue for 50 percent of his estate with a further seventh to go to the child they had together, lawyers said.

The judge in the case had appointed a special administrator to oversee the execution of the will and would likely grant permission for DNA to be taken from Brown's body to determine a contested paternity case, Rosen said.

That's right. Keep the faith! They were using Beethoven's hair with the diamonds. Who knows what little elves were up to in the TWO MONTHS since the man died?

                            Not that I really care........

but are apologies in order? Unless I missed something, Anna Nicole Smith was buried today so I think she beat James Brown into a grave (just as I predicted in the poll).

Yeah, predicting what happens to dead celebrities can be tricky. Everyone's guesses are almost always wrong. It's too bad we can't purchase carbon offsets to assuage our guilt.
