After lunch the players lounged about the hotel patio watching the surf fling white plumes high against the darkening sky. Clouds were piling up in the west… Vince Lombardi frowned.
Touring east coast with Built to Spill. That is a hell of a double bill.
Wow....I thought one of the Brothers died of an overdose. Good to hear they are back together. The two times I saw them they were tripping big time....one of the crew told me they always ate acid before the show and it was apparent those nights.
The next guy who calls 2007 "the year of the reunion" is gonna get his nose separated from his face. Sure, 40 years removed from the Summer of Love, it'd be nice to think there were larger Utopian forces at work beyond common greed and stalled solo careers bringing together...
First time i saw them was at Club Voltaire in miltown...musta been back in 86 or so. Drove in from Madtown to see Simple Minds/Shriekback...i think that was the bill. Shriekback was who we really wanted to see and they didn't show for some reason. Anyway, after the show we bolted down to see them..coudn't believe we were gonna catch that much music in one nite.
They got all pissy at the end..and wouldn't play an encore..cause the "fans" didn't applaud...you know the "i'm too cool/jaded to show appreciation" crowd. They played on stage that was like a foot above the floor. I was literally standing in Curt's face.
