He was ranked 38th in Rolling Stone's list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time".

His tone on the Bluesbreakers instrumental "The Super-Natural" was rated as one of the fifty greatest of all time by 'Guitar Player'.

In June 1996 Green was voted the third-best guitarist of all time in 'Mojo magazine'.

Incidently I believe it was all but one member of the earliest Fleetwood MAC band originally played witht he GREAT John Mayall.

This one will take some of you back to the Saturday afternoon dance party. Well I understand that 'maybe' alot of you fellas don't dance like we do up here in Canada.

** Before John McVie joined the band Fleetwood Mac already named partially in his name by Peter Green for Mick 'Fleetwood' and John 'Mac' McVie there was a bass player named Bob Brunning who was with the band and contributed bass guitar to one track on Fleetwood Mac's debut album 'Fleetwood Mac', that song being "Long Grey Mare".

Bob Mcvie was still with The John Mayall group 'The Bluesbreakers' when the debut album for Fleetwood Mac was cut.

A few weeks later McVie did come on as bassist and Bob Brunning stepped down. Mcvie did so claiming that Bluesbreakers leader John Mayall was turning too far in the direction of jazz for his liking
