So I'm not going to get into anything dramatic and how that actually went down. Rather I'm going to include some early SRV on this fantastic thread, after I twist you around a wee bit. This thread contains so much music and the growth a music lover could gain by carefully going through it. is enormous gain. My brother uses Facebook as a platform for his hobby as a Disc Jockey. He's so into this that he has 100's of fans now. We.... my Bro, Sister and I grew up with music in our face. We were inspired by our maternal Grandmother Ruby....who was a church organist and choir director for 42 years. I began to sing with her when I was 3-4 years of age. My younger Bro picked up an old flat top acoustic that our Uncle Harold left behind at the Farm House ...currently where I summer. I'll never forget it. The guitar had a gondola scene stamped on it. It was badly out of tune until ....Mr. Fussy....Dennis..... got to work with his good ears and GRAM's tuner and expertise. He said to me "Eddie ....I'm going to learn how to play this guitar real fine." Well .....he did just that..... beginning at 12 years of age. Where I come from he's recognized as more than just a good guitar player. My brother has outstanding technique playing any 12 string guitar and ROCKS out a Gibson electric, Stratocaster or Fender Guitar. He's owned many guitars over 50 plus years...and he has the gift to get the best out of any ofn them. He can play anything and that always amazed me as without sheet music I`m Mr. Magoo`s eyesight ....ears.

Dennis has a Gibson Les Paul Guitar that he plays so sweet. I've seen him 'in the groove then sweet mood' a few times when I knew I was privileged to observe a guitar genius...ahhh wait am I exaggerating a wee bit? No .....I don't believe so....yea sure my brother has that quality in his guitar style. I swear I do NOT exaggerate.....he's uniquely awesome. Isn't that what genius is all about !?

We've a fella back home who studied under the wonderful guitarist Andre Segovia. Possibly the greatest ....well certainly that IMO and ...classical guitarist that ever lived. He (David Kindred who was an amazing guitarist in his own right and played Lead Guitar in the earliest band I can recall becoming familiar with in Saint John) returned to Saint John from France after I heard ......a one year study and guitar.... and set up his own Music Academy. Over the years Mr. Kindred taught many how to Rock and play the Blues.

Bro Dennis went to see him for about 5 lessons and Dave Kindred said ...." There Dennis..... I cannot do anymore for you. You've got all the talent you need, so, just go out and play .....entertain. ".

While in High School..Dennis was in Rock Bands playing lead guitar...He backed up Saint John's own....Debbie Adshade when she was just beginning and into Folk Music. Debbie excels at any type of music with a wonderful style and voice. I had the pleasure of attending a dance one night at the Saint John Marina and she and he band rocked that joint. Debbie was very decent at covering the late great Janis Joplin. Debbie's an enormous talent (check her out possibly using her name and Madrigal...a duo she fronts for. The other Lady is a harpest and the albums they've made are special. Debbie stayed home in Saint John, NB why? She knew how difficult he got on the music scene giving often too much to make it......
besides in clear words.....Debbie didn't aspire to the Big Time.

Again ....If you look for her ( Debbie Adshade) on YouTube you may discover her awesome voice. The talent in the Eastern Provinces of Canada ie the Maritime Provinces 'the Maritimer's....is over the top solid. A tremendous talent base exists there..

Dennis formed different Rock bands in the Rock Town where we grew up. As an adult he continued to ROCK in bands and was the original lead guitarist in a famous Maritime band called " Donnie and the Monarchs.". This band played special events and dances and in clubs and taverns for over 30 years. They just retired a few years ago.

I'm on YouTube....hearing some enormous blues right now. Who in 'blue blazes' is that? Looking....got it....I'll check her out somewhat closer later................ ** maybe NOT.

** When your retired there's simply not enough hours in any day. my life is so very full. When your working for the man you have little time for anything els and not stress yourself to the MAX. ** I'm so very happy to get away from that " normal people must generally do it .........Rat Race.

What a down buzz. . . . . that usually got to be.

Retirement is...glorious if your healthy and I've never felt as strong ! Life is so great.

Often Mae and I spend an entire evening. I practise Texas Holdem online on Poker Canada (to prepare for the REAL SHOW) and Mae does several games as well on Facebook. If were not listening to or watching our beloved Les Habitants....the Montreal Canadians we're usually tuned in via Satellite to either a great blues station or we're listing to Jazz. I love smooth Jazz. The qe sound on our system is amazing to me. Heck I'm aging...I've worked in Power Plants and have middle ear damage; so I hear it the best I can. Some advice for Y'll as you enter the retirement years ;heck turn 50. Get your hearing checked out. There's a strong LINK between the functioning of your brain and hearing loss. I read a stat on this just yesterday and about 47% of people turning 60 years have a Hearing Loss issue.
