I viewed and listened to a band that I have never before ever heard of. I rendered a private evaluation and that is all. The others that you mention I'm not familiar with either. I've been spoiled by listening to bands like Pink Floyd and The Eagles and Led Zeppelin. I saw Earth,Wind,and Fire before the reached national prominence. I've seen The Who, Yes, and Crosby,Stills,Nash,and Young. I've seen The Allman Brothers, Emerson,Lake, and Palmer, and many more. I grew up listening to "new" Beatles releases as I was 7 years old in 1964 when they changed music forever.

I don't dislike today's new releases, but for the most part find it unoriginal and too often monotone in nature. Great music can be timeless. Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Elvis, and many Broadway Show Hits still capture my attention. Classic and neo-classic Jazz still can inspire my appreciation. In addition I also listen to the Classics like Bach, Mozart, and Copeland. John Williams will go down among the greats as well for his works.

I don't see many of the current popular performers being remembered beyond their lifetimes. Paul McCartney and John Lennon will be remembered 500 years from now.
