UNF closed the packer forum..Idk why..Someone else may have the scoop on that..This place is better though IMHO anyways (even though that was great and it was very nice of UNF to give us the opportunity to post there, I really didnt like how it turned the words "a hole" into "ding dong"..and other things like that)..

I'm pretty sure Bat Pack is St. Lou. He's badmouthing us over there....calling us elitist and saying we did UNF wrong. He knows nothing about the situation at all!

Interesting HW. I also quite appreciate what UNF did for us, and hope he isn't offended/upset. If he wanted us off the site (I'm sure we were causing him some heat), it would've been nice if he'd told us nicely though, instead of just shutting 'er down.

I was VERY apprehensive about this place. I really didn't want to migrate here. I think Bretsky was in the same mindset. I liked C-E, and especially the interface of the site. Mentally, it wasn't until this morning that I decided to "move" here. Then, I come back tonight and shit hit the fan. I think Harlan and Mad can vouch for the fact that I've stuck up for C-E since this place has been up--probably to the consternation of those guys.

I think tonight just proves we needed to do this. The goal: make this the best Packer site in history.

I was undoubtedly going to give a no vote on the referendum; I'd expressed my views more privately to a few and via pm, but here it was.

I felt greatful to UN for creating the site at CE for us. I had to problem being a sub site to CE. And no matter how well we expressed it, I knew if we planned on competing with CE than it would create bad karma and feelings toward a person who helped us out. I was loyal to CE.

I came in here under the presumption that it was an alternative spot for CE posters to come and the main focus was the keep the whole bunch together. I know that was the purpose, but as I wqas reading more I could also tell that many of the individuals wanted to make this a football forum. I took a lower profile and didn't actively recruit members in here....because I didn't support making this into a football forum and hoped CE would continue to do well.

That being said, as all there is to do is move forward. There is no reason to go back to JS. This site is very well set up, and we can certainly make it into a great Packer forum. Get er done.

He is definitely badmouthing us - elitist, stale, etc. A real burr in his saddle.

I guess a lot of people still at JSO really don't get why those of us who moved did. For me, it wasn't elitism, or anything like that at all. There were other reasons, but myself I think biggest one was Quality of Service. I'm a busy guy, and when I want to make a post or two, I don't want to have to worry about whether or not the site it going to be up. Couple that with a very slow server, a search function that barely works, and the inability to preview your posts, and it is just a shitty all around deal.

The only reason I continued to return is that the best posters were there!
