I hope he gets another chance. That does not mean I dismiss what he did, especially considering he was drunk driving, and a repeat offender. Had he killed someone, and given the tougher new conduct policy, his career would be in doubt.
Above all else, you hope that he's reformed within himself, that he has sworn off alcohol, has treated/mastered his disease, has learned a lot during his legal process and his suspension, and that he's grown to appreciate what a privilege it is to play pro sports, and how quickly it can be taken away. I'm sure there were some tough days. Aside from the danger that he could have put someone else and himself being drunk behind the wheel, I think these issues are really self-destructive issues. Again, hopefully he has shown himself, his teammates and the league that he has his demons in check and he's ready to resume his career. Here's hoping there is a happy ending for K-Rob. I do believe alcoholism is a disease.
