    Re: Favorite/suggested beers

There are so many fantastic beers in the world it's tough for me to do this but here goes:

Favorite nationwide available beer: Nationwide? Hmmmm....Deschutes Cinder Cone or Blackbutte Porter? Can you get that on the right coast?
Favorite Fall beer: A regional Octoberfest or harvest...to many to name.
Favorite Winter beer: Anchor Steam Christmas or a nice Belgian Trippel
    Favorite Spring beer: Alaskan Amber
Favorite Summer beer: Any good Saison will do or a nice Kolsch.
Favorite Local Beer: Midnight Sun Arctic Devil Barley Wine or Alaskan Smoked Porter

Best Beer I've had in the last six months: Dogfish Head Midas Touch Golden Elixir.

Is that the same company as the Dogfish Alehouse restaurants? I hear they're good.

Depending on where we turn to get to Rehoboth, we may pass right near there on Hwy. 50. By the way, I don't really drink beer (I know this makes it worse) but can you suggest a good pale ale?

I usually go for the hard ciders and stuff like Mike's unless I'm drinking hard liquor. But for you I will have a beer.

Ha ha...Ok....let me look at the list of Tap stuff and get back with you. They do distill hard stuff now I see. I saw a small batch Vodka on the website.

Tyrone lives in Scottsdale. Stone Brewing company is in Escondido, CA.

Tyrone does love Arrogant Bastard Ale. Goes well with pale, slighty yellow crack rock.

                        Fav Beers:

Wisconsin Belgian Red - New Glarus Brewing

Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald Porter - tyrone gets misty when drinking this while singing along with Mr. Lightfoot - THE BIG LAKE THEY CALL GITCHY GUMMEE

                        La fin Du Monde

Racer X - Bear Republic Brewing - C'mon, who didn't wanna be Racer X. Speed Racer was a LOSER.

                        Hoegarden - Belgian White Bear

                        [/list]

This is not a pale but you should try it for me..

                          Festina Peche Please?

This beer is a Neo-Berliner Weisse brewed with wheat and pilsner malt to 4.5% abv. It was given one of the lowest hop additions for any Dogfish Head beer to date coming in at just 5 IBU's!

After the hop additions, the beer is fermented with fresh peaches.

The beer is tart due to the presence of lactic acid along with a subtle fruit profile from the peaches.

Also try Fluckey's Fest....I know these sound crazy but these guys brew some amazing shit.

Admiral Fluckey's Lager was brewed with 51% Pilsner malt and 49% Chardonnay grapes, then fermented with Champagne yeast. It is low (~15 IBU’s) on the bitterness scale, a bit sweet, about 7-8% abv, with the slight acididity of a champagne.
Admiral Fluckey was the first commander of the USS Dogfish (submarine) and just passed away on July 2, 2007.

This is what we need. Tipsy women in an outlet mall with credit cards...maybe we should switch Dogfish to the dinner hour...

Ha ha....what a sport. The dinner hour might not be a bad idea.......

I have family in Springfield and a great friend in Baltimore...two great excuses to fly down to visit this brewery.
