I was a big fan of Bill Murray's lounge singer...Nick XXXX(whatever the location he was performing).

Also loved Ackroyd as Tom Snyder.

BTW, the ignorant slut comment wasn't from Chevy, it was Ackroyd. Curtain and him co-anchored the news, and it came from the segment of Point/Counter Point.

Hello, my name is Tommy Flanagan, and I'm a member of Pathological Liars Anonymous. In fact.. I'm the president of the organization! I didn't always lie. No, when I was a kid, I told the truth. But then one day, I got caught stealing money out of my mother's purse. I lied. I told her it was homework -that my teacher told me to do it. And she got fired! Yeah, that's what happened! After that, lying was easy for me.

I lied about my age and joined the army. I was thirteen at the time. Yeah.. I went to Vietnam, and I was injured catching a mortar shell in my teeth. And they made me a three-star general! And then I got a job in journalism, writing for the National Enquire.. er, Geographic! Yeah.. I was making twenty thousand a ye.. month! In fact, I won the Pulitzer Prize that year! Yeah, that's the ticket.

And then my cousin died - Joe Louis - and I took it hard. Maybe too hard - I tried to kill myself. Yeahh.. I did kill myself! Sure! I was medically dead for a week and a half! It was a woman that brought me out of it - Indira Gandhi! Yeah, right.. And she told me about Pathological Liars Anonymous. Oh, you'd be surprised how many famous people belong. In fact.. at one of the meetings I met my wife - Morgan Fairchild! Yes, I'm a changed man now, and all because of Pathological Liars Anonymous. Why, I - I even have my picture on the cover of Newsweek magazine. Yeah. Every day! Yeah.. that's the ticket! Yeah, you betcha!

            Ty,
I'm almost positive Chevy Chase was the anchor that made the famous Jane you're a slut call..
I've been able to catch some of the newer SNL shows on TBS(my kids enjoy it in the afternoon!) can't imagine my folks letting me watch SNL when I was 15!!
My Two favorite teams are the Packers, and whoever plays the Vikings!

I was thinking about that one...he never was able to get the "s" out...it was "Cheeburger, cheeburger, cheeburger....pepsi, pepsi, pepsi...no coke" At one time there was a few restaurants here in Atlanta called "Cheeburger, cheeburger" and yes, there was no Coke...which in Atlanta is blasphemy.
My house is in Georgia but Wisconsin is my home.

I think that skit was inspired by the Billy Goat Tavern in Chicago:

Nyet, it was Ayroid. IIRC he used it pretty regularly after the first time. But the first time he did it, it was entirely unscripted, and he delievered it deadpan. Jane Curtain looked like she'd been hit in the face with a frying pan. Do you know that skit was from '78???

Some of Eddy Murphy's stuff was great. I liked Mr Robinson's Neighbourhood.
'Boys and girls, what has blue eyes, and my skin? That's right boys and girls, today's word is...can you say it with me? bastard'

I also remember Madden hosting it - don't remember anything about the episode, or whether or not he was funny.

"Hey, Tippi Turtle, coming down the street
Tell us what you're gonna do!"

Then, I'll probably go home and get drunk."

One of Eddie Murphy's creations, Tyrone Green (?), street poet. Famous for his epic poem "Kill my Landlord."
I think I got that right. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

It was Akroyd. I think the year Chevy did it he anchored alone.

You're right, but it was "C-i-l-l" your landlord.

Dark and lonely on a summer's night.

Kill my landlord. Kill my landlord.

                                Watchdog barking. Do he bite?

Kill my landlord. Kill my landlord.

Slip in his window. Break his neck.

Then his house I start to wreck.

Got no reason. What the heck?

Kill my landlord. Kill my landlord.

                                C-I-L-L my landlord!
