He takes aim at a lot of big, looming, unpopular targets, such as the IRS, the Federal Reserve, etc. and says they should be abolished because they're not in the constitution. Never mind the fact that our financial infrastructure depends upon these institutions. The sweeping changes he wants to make sound good to those who don't understand all that these institutions do, but beware the unintended consequences of failing to fund your government (the IRS) or failing to stabilize your banking industry (the Fed). Ron Paul wants to drive the U.S. economy into the third world. Of course he wants there to be almost no government. That's working well for Somalia.

Over a decade ago, Bill Clinton ran and won on a platform of "It's the economy, stupid." Ron Paul wants to run on a platform of "Fuck the economy." and "I'm stupid."

I don't understand why Paul is running for the Republican nomination. If he wants to run for President, he should run as an independent. It's independent voters that he appeals to, not the die-hard Republicans who gave us Bush.
