I'd rather have gone for the points in the first half, but that didn't lose this game.

Absolutely horrible blocking in 2nd half, bad penalties (even with the 2 gift non-calls we should have gotten for PI) at least FOUR dropped passes and absolute abandonment of the run game did this team in.

This one is on the offense and the coaching more than anyone else.

You can't let a substandard team like the Skins hang around like that. The missed 48 yarder bit us in the rear big time.

Continually losing key players doesn't help either. Shudder to think what it'll be like without Finley in the lineup.

Plenty of blame to go around to for the vets, coaching and ST's, but the replacements played pretty damned well.

To be fair to the team and , it's tough to implement a gameplan when you lose 4 starters during a single game, 3 in the first quarter!

Run game or trading for a running back is not the problem. They didn't convert into scores in the first half.

Then in the second half, they never figured out how to protect and beat their coverage.

Some of that I blame on Finley being out. You run a two or three man route so you can protect with 7 or 8, Finley is still going to be a viable option for a catch. They never came up with something reliable to replace him on 3rd down. Drops hurt a ton, as did turnovers and penalties again.

Just using the run game more in the second half might have avoided more 3rd and long. But they did not need a new O line or new RB to do it.

When we just become one dimensional and the Redskins can just pin their ears back and pass rush all the damn time that's a problem.

We needed to run the ball more so we didn't have 3rd and long.

I'm not solely blaming the loss on the lack of attempts with the run game, I'm just pissed that we didn't even try and run the ball more when it was successful.

I don't think the running game is the problem. The Redskins have about the worst pass defense in the league and they couldn't attack them there effectively. Finley opens up the whole offense IMO. Guys need to hang on to the ball too. Driver had 4 drops, Jones had a bunch, and so on. I'd like to think that won't continue. It's amazing how the NFL is such a game of inches. I have a hard time putting too much blame on MM

Somewhere in the middle of this thread posters criticized MM for a series when Jackson run for about seven or so.........and then MM ran Jackson wide off tackle and he was stuffed for a two yard loss. Then an incomplete pass and punt. It was pointed out that is where you use Kuhn and pound it straight forward for a first down.

A few series later, Jackson ran for six yards. Kuhn came in and they tried to do exactly what a couple posters suggested.........and Kuhn lost two to three yards.

Take the Seventy Two Yard run away. What is our yards per carry ? Our running game lacked consistency and that's why MM lacks confidence there.

I don't blame MM for not having confidence in the run game.
I don't blame MM for not thinking the run game can be consistent with Jacksona and Kuhn

I do completely agree that right now our offense lacks an identity
