they had to recover closer to have a shot at the endzone, a typical onside wasn't going to leave them enough time or close enough for one shot.

can't say I'm disappointed. I actually enjoy the kid's attitude and he's fun to watch. If he don't learn to get down, he won't last long in this league tho.

I'd rather see them win their division over fucking NYG

Soldiers field is a bad track to come to yer first game back.

Having Cutler have to kepp an eye on both them will boggle his tiny brain.

I'm amazed at how much Alex Green has improved his inside running the last few weeks. I'm also hoping MM puts Lang at LG when he's ready to come back.

I thought he would be lucky to keep the ACL. Thought the rest were gone until I saw his press conference where he seemed very positive.

Nice to see a W.

Like everyone's been saying. Cool to see the run game pick up. Cool to see that little guy run so decisively. Cool to know we get Clay and Wood back. Lang too. Dietrich Smith just isn't cutting it in there. Oh, nice to see Barclay play so well. He looks tough. Him and Sitton could be a nice combo over there.

The way Fairley pushed EDS back on that sack was embarrassing.

Is Shields some kind of CB savant more like Hayward (with less college exp.) than we thought or just extraordinarily athletic?

He's a good player. A bit of down year last year, but he can cover. He did so his rookie year and he's played well when healthy this year. Helps to have blazing speed, but he and Hayward are playmakers. House is more like Al Harris used to be. Solid, but didn't always make a ton of plays.

House tackles better and is more willing to engage in contact. But I otherwise agree. Shields speed just makes him available to react supremely fast. On that INT, he was never afraid of the WR getting behind him so he stayed in backpedal or angled run, watching the QB the entire time. He wasn't peeking into the backfield, he was watching it like it was a film.

When throw was closer to him than WR, the O never had a chance.

It was EDS's pull and block that sprung Harris for his TD.

He did that well, but he gets bull-rushed too much. Lang is better than EDS, and Barclay may be better than Lang at RT.

I eat my words on Shields a bit. . . . But, they played mostly man. We don't do that often, most teams actually have the threat to run.

I think that is why we saw off coverage in the middle of the game. When they were worried about the way they opened and were successful with the run. When the Pack got the lead back, saw more passing and more man. Sent McMillan into the box for run support and blitz.

rbaloha1

Packers*were lucky to win. I am not sure this is the reincarnation of the 2010 super bowl team.

What is encouraging:

1. Running game -- Green is getting better at being more patient. Needs to lose weight in the off season to get faster. Still leaves yards on the field. Grant looks fresh and maybe is Starks 2010. Harris is the Sproles type rb the Packers have needed.

2. Lang needs to replace EDS which improves the running game even more.

3. Shields recaptured starting spot and looks good. Hayward needs to be the nickel slot corner. Woodson needs to start since he is a factor in the run and blitz games.

4. Crosby appears to have recaptured mojo. Still would cut him in the off season.

5. CM returns elevates the entire defense. Guys like Walden are beneficiaries of Matthews. Watching Zombo getting blocked by a qb was ridiculous.

Maybe this team on-track for another super bowl run. Nonetheless it is painful and stressful to watch.
