The Ravens offense is as horizontal as the Bears last year. But LJ is an even better runner. He had a monster hesitation move to escape the pocket on his second trip back across the field.

Gotta love the pinnacle of software (eating the world) technology that can bring us the Twitter stylings of Jermaine Whitehead. Just think, decades ago you’d have to wait years before encountering him, fat old and out of work, in a local tavern, before you’d have a chance to confront him, argue, denigrate his football skills, and then have him threaten your life. Today, that can all happen in 15-20 seconds on Twitter. The efficiency of it all just amazes me. #goldenage

Really intelligent guy. Not being facetious. That's what makes him so hard to understand. Similar issue with the #Packers. Smart guy doing something just so foolish to jeopardize his NFL career. I don't get it.

What Jason Wilde is forgetting is that social media is not an intelligence friendly space. It's more like the unconscious, where things have a way of following their own logic. So Whitehead is a marginal player, always on the cusp, who had just gotten abused and exposed. His NFL career was probably flashing before his eyes as soon as Fant ran him over. Someone then reminded the world of his undignified moment in a very public way. And he overreacted in the way that insecurity often does. Not such a big mystery. Or if you want a mystery, it would be do you bring a phone to the game at all. Leave it at home for when the sting wears off.

pbmax

This looks like it happened at home (7:49 PM). But I agree about the rest. I think Wilde would too. He's just pointing out that Whitehead at other times appeared much smarter than this.

I’m waiting for the inactive list, of both DTs are out for Chargers, imma bet on Raiders. Raiders have really good run game and short passing game. Perfect matchup against Chargers. Black hole....... Chargers coming off convincing win vs Packers so odds went toward them.

Just think it’s a good upset tonight (injuries pending)

After the Lions' defense suffered another shellacking, Matt Patricia made clear that Paul Pasqua-ever was in charge of the defense and calling all the defenses. This seems a certain prelude to Pasqua-ever being fired if the Bears score more than 17 points.

For those that don’t know Carr is or at least was a Packers fan. He was often shown with his Favre jersey on when he was a boy at his brothers Fresno St games. Yes that is why he is #4 now.

As bad as the Packers played - they looked flatter than pancake - The Flower was equally culpable for not doing more to subvert that pass rush. The screens are still a work in progress, and The Flower forgot about the run game.

They literally reacted in the worst way to speed pass rush. As KYP said, they were so afraid* of the guy getting to the edge with speed, they left the inside lane open.

You have to shut that inside down on both sides, short set in the middle and have Rodgers step up. You can also then draw them to death with an inside handoff off the Guard.

Boo Packers. Boo.

I kept waiting for that. Rodgers seemed to be getting better at doing that sort of thing, but it didn't happen in that Charger game. I think I remember a few screen attempts, but those take longer to set up than a bad joke.

Lions coached a horrible game and I don’t usually say that. 4th and a half yard at the 50 and they were moving the ball the whole first quarter and they punted. They played not to lose today. They deserve to lose. Which is annoying cuz I had them as part of a 5 way parlay that was falling my way. That’s what I get for betting before the final injury updates.

This has to be about as bad as it gets from the NFL's perspective. They have 2 items on their safety agenda. Protect quarterbacks, and reduce concussions. So ripping off a QB's helmet and hitting him over the head with it is pretty incredible. That said, Rudolf was not an innocent victim here. There could be discipline against him too.

Garrett was lucky he didn't connect with a more solid part of the helmet. Dude is big, very strong, and those helmets can give/take a lot of damage. He's done for the year for sure.
I didn't see the CLE as a having much playoff hope, I think this will sink them.

Pouncey should get 3 games, wouldn't be surprised if he appeals it down to 2. Kicking a dude in the head when he's down is not cool. Remember Suh stomping Dietrich-Smith? Plus, precedent has shown that throwing a closed fist punch is gonna be at least a 1 game suspension.

Rudolph should get suspended too -- the hit on him by Garrett was late and unnecessary, but so was going after his helmet like that. He more or less escalated things by doing that, and then went after Garrett like a dumbass after DeCastro got between them. Walk away, the game is over.

By the way, I think DeCastro did the correct thing by basically taking down Garrett and laying on him IMO vs. punching/kicking him like Pouncey. You gotta protect your QB, but with how the league cracks down on this stuff, throwing punches is dumb.

There were some really ugly hits in this game and I think it boiled over in a bad way. The hit on JuJu was bad, and the hit by Randall on Johnson that caused a concussion/visible ear bleeding was scary. You could hear the helmets crack...I'd be pissed if Eddie Jackson did that to a Packer receiver. That was an ugly game and a nationally televised eyesore for the NFL.

Apparently youth participation in football is down in many states, not sure this is going to help change that.

As for Rudolph’s behavior. I saw it live and replay showed Garrett mugging him on the ground first well after the takedown and appeared he was talking shit. NFL did the indefinite suspension to send a message about the severity but also not to pin themselves into a specific number. He'll be gone the rest of the season and then he can talk to the league in the offseason about coming back (and doing some anger management counseling or such). This way the NFL shows they are serious about player safety and at the same time show the Player's Union that they are willing to listen to players and not be so rigid.

I don't know about McMahon, but I am sure I cheered when Joe "Turkey" Jones planted Bradshaw's head into the turf.

But not sure I would structure a justice system around that take.

Exhilarating. They even got the fumble because the ground didn't cause that fumble, Turkey Jones did.

Really, really, poor analogy. If you ever go to bar try smashing a chair over a strangers head. If his friend decks you for it, see if that friend catches charges.

Depends on the damages and the witnesses. If there is video I suspect they would be hearing from somebody. But we are not talking about people going about their personal lives at a private business.

You can't commit a flagrant personal foul after the whistle in the game and not get dinged for it. Otherwise Belichick will coach it.

I beat my sister worse than that when I was 14. She was older and always kicked my ass. She rib stomped me one day and I got up and damn near beat her to death. That’s the last time she hit me.

Whatever, garret is human. He lost his shit. I’m over it.

So we have established that children and adults shouldn't be treated the same.

Emotions are no reason to overlook an infraction.

"Your honor, I shouldn't have shot that man, but I was so MAD!"

You have had a weird interest in and soft spot for women beaters over the years. Is this where it stems from ? Your sister kicking your ass? I know your an internet personality, but I've never actually encountered a dude in real life that is actually a proponent of men beating the shit out of women like that. You thought about counseling?

He would at least get a disorderly conduct ticket.

I always found that fight disturbing. Some people claim that punch almost killed Tomjanovich.

Yeah, it could well have. He came out with a broken nose, fractured jaw, cheekbone, and a CSF leak. Not good.

That's nothing. I once cold-cocked a nun on a public bus. Bitch wouldn't give up her seat and my feet were killing me.

It isn’t until we admit what we really are that we can get what we really want. Don’t let shame hold you back, brother. Go get that bus seat.

What was overshadowed in that last play and the real story for a Badger game is watching his development and seeing how Dominant TJ Watt is becoming.

I wonder if Watt and Schobert had some time to chat during the fight. They both look like all-pros.

There is a definite 1st half vibe to this one. But with the Denver D, it might stay interesting.

And now a fumble by Cousins.

Dallas and Detroit in an actual good game. I remember one other case of that. Playoff game I believe.

Patricia just might be able to coach dammit.

Cobb just delivered a TD drive with two great catches. But took a head to head shot on his TD. Has to get evaluated I would suspect.

Denver missed a big opportunity to stick the dagger in them right before the half. But the Vikings just look pathetic. That is very unlike them this season.

7-3 doesn't blow but they are getting destroyed and ass blasted at home.....which ain't good. You guys lose sometimes, but not in a fucking rout.

I agree with that. It's still a 3 score game though....I don't see the final score changing unless there is some unbelievable halftime adjustment.

There's the start to the 2nd half the Vikes needed.
