More blows for the Seahawks: Seattle HC Pete Carroll said RBs Chris Carson and CJ Prosise are out next Sunday night vs SF and OT Duane Brown needs knee surgery.

Reception thief Prosise also out.

A great question.

Mainly, he played for more money after his FA year with GB, GB thought it could upgrade with Bennett.

Then they overcorrected with Graham, big error, and could afford Lewis but not Cook, if indeed they considered him this time around before he got to NO.

Cook wanted to remain in GB. He never sought to be paid like Gronk. Did the Packers ever recover the frogskins (signing bonus $) they wasted on Bennett?

Todd was the mother of incompetence. That’s the simplest answer to why Cook wasn’t retained.

Cook wanted to walk the offer around and see if they could sweeten it. McCarthy wanted a two way TE and Bennett was available. Cook made it work for him despite getting a little less money in Oakland. Good for him.

But it wasn't Ted's move alone.

I dunno if he’s the next great RB from the U, but Travis Homer is a cool name. And he’s white, too, a la #30 of the Donkeys.

Shoulda drafted Homer instead of D-Will.

Btw, Metcalf looked disinterested today going against Peterson. Wilson was too scared to test Peterson.

I think silos were still around Lombardi Ave at that point in time. Ultimately, Bennet for Cook was Todd’s call.

Yeah i shoulda been clear. Meant a two way tie goes to GB vs NO. Head to head was obviously a poor choice of words.

Yeah check that foo!!

Fun question: Is a number 1 spot really what you want to see? How that shit work out that last couple of times?

This year very much so. Teams like Sea, NO, MIN coming to Lambeau is a huge leg up for this inconsistent squad. I think cold weather helps mask a bit of their weaknesses.

It was. In hindsight, it did not work out well. But he was also watching Cook walk that offer around and had a better (so most thought) TE available for not much more that was exactly what his coach was asking for.

It takes always takes two to tango, if Cook agrees right away, he is still a Packer.

I haven't run into many Eagles fans, so I don't loathe them. The team itself is easy to root for. They have a lot of character. Pederson, former Packers backup, keeps that team together. Wentz is fun to watch + a Bison. They are going to win the division over the Cowboys with a bunch of PS guys playing significant snaps. On top of that, they crushed the Vikings in the NFC Championship Game a couple of years ago.

When I knew them, they were very excited about Montgomery and Carmichael, the Bill Bergy defense and Vermeil. But most of them were rooting for the Steelers. :D

Very similar I'd imagine to the Bears getting run over by the Packers for 25 years.

This is completely fucked up. How does the NFL screw the NFC team that has to play SF? 6 days rest after a playoff game to play a team that has a week off. Might as well give SF a 7-0 lead before the game starts.

Man soooooo close to homefield throughout. Now we likely have to beat NO and SF. But the consolation is the Seahawks got the heartbroken with some garbage officiating at home. I think we can beat NO at home, but a win in SF would require the Packer offense to play their best game in months.

Amazing job by Pederson and Wentz.

The Eagles had 400 yards of offense on Sunday afternoon - 279 of them came from players who were on the practice squad earlier this season.

The Eagles were operating without these offensive players they were counting on when the season began: DeSean Jackson, Lane Johnson, Brandon Brooks, Zach Ertz, Alshon Jeffery, Nelson Agholor, Corey Clement, Darren Sproles and Miles Sanders.

Right, but Seattle didn't have a timeout to give the booth extra time to decide if they wanted to review the play. It's the last 2 minutes of both halves where the booth has to initiate the review.

NFL said they looked at the play but did not buzz down to the officials because they felt it was not pass interference.

After the game, Riveron told pool reporter Tim Booth he did look at the play but deemed it not a penalty.

"Well, we actually looked at it here in New York," Riveron said. "We had a great look. NBC gives us a great look of the entire route. So, we actually did perform a review, but based on what we saw, we didn't see enough to stop the game. But we did review it. What we see is, we see the offensive player come in and initiate contact on the defensive player -- nothing that rises to the level of a foul which significantly hinders the defender, nothing that is clear and obvious through visual evidence, which hinders the defender. The defender then braces himself. And there is contact then by the defender on the receiver. Again, nothing which rises to the level of a foul based on visual evidence. Nothing happens that rises to the level of a foul while the ball is in the air before it gets there by either player."
