Coolman, or whoever you are, the fans in Detroit would love to have the "incompetence" of a Ted Thompson running a 13-3 team that is the youngest in the league and has plenty of cap space next year.
So if TT is incompentent, what is Matt Millen?

...which lead to 8-8 and then 12-3 with a first round bye...

APB also wrote a flawless argument over there. It is entitled "An Argument Against the Contract Extension of Ted Thompson." In short, APB concludes:
And so in conclusion, we have made a sound and persuasive argument. We have argued logically and with indisputable evidences that, due to Thompson's incompetence running the Packer football operation, he does not deserve a contract extension. Thompson's abominations should not go unaccounted for, and if there is any justice left in this conservative-corrupted world, his contract should (deservedly) be terminated.
But as we are also extreme liberals, we are open-minded to the realm of extreme paranormals. Mike Sherman, despite his profound success, was let go too soon by the incompetent Bob Harlan, before he had the opportunity to kiss the Lombardi Trophy in front of Nike (the goddess of victory). The 2007 season has ended. A new season begins. The Playoffs. If the Packers can manage to achieve the insurmountable, and win three straight games, then we-as extreme liberals-will be the first to concede to our opponents' fallacious notion that there is indeed an ounce of competence within so incompetent a Polar Bear. We may even concede to their fallacious belief that Ted Thompson is superior to Mike Sherman as a general manager.
This is a first. I've never seen a poster be his own biatch!

Fritz, even the geek Patler can not dispute these obvious facts: After 3 seasons as gm, Sherman won 34 games; after 3 seasons, Thompson won 25 games. Even if the Pack go 16-0 next season, Sherman would still have more wins than Thompson within 4 seasons. Sherman got fired. Thompson got a new contract. Defies logic!!!
Millen is a whipping boy. As long as the Ford family needs a whipping boy, Millen will always be around.
MIKE SHERMAN IS THE ONLY GM IN NFL HISTORY WHO NEVER MISSED THE PLAYOFFS
In each of Thompson's seasons, the team improved and they went further. Thus proving that your friend APB is not too good with the math and logic--and this is coming from a completely non-math person, and the only reason you're claiming that Patler could not argue with that logic is because he doesn't happen to be logged in at the moment.

Sherman succeeded Wolf
Thompson succeeded Sherman
Who took over the better situation personnel-wise. When you combine HC/GM into one person, the HC can often have a fool for a GM.

With all due respect, MJZiggy, you're the one who is not very good at math. In one of your thread above, you wrote, and I quote "...and then 12-3 with a first round bye." Um..there are 16 regular season games. I guess that biology professor at Harvard is right: women are inferior intellectually compared to men, due to women's smaller brain size.
Do the math, it is not hard to improve upon a 4 win season.

Excuse the typo. 13-3. Doesn't change the fact that your so-called logic doesn't work. It's not hard to improve on 4 wins, but it's damned hard to achieve 13.

Lets see...When Sherman first started he had Freeman and Schroeder as starting WRs. He had some guy named K-Something Something as a starting DE. He had a guy named Bernado Harris as starting MLB. He had Tyrone Williams as starting cb.
When Thompson took over he had Javon Walker and Donald Driver as WRs, both pro bowlers. He had Aaron Kampman as starting DE (drafted by Sherman). He had Nick Barnett as starting MLB (drafted by Sherman). He had Al Harris (aquired by Sherman) as starting cb.
Sherman had the great O line assembled by Wolf. Thompson could've had a greater line had he kept Wahle and drafted Logan Mankins.
Thompson took over the better situation. But fucked it up.

Thompson could win the next 5 superbowls and some people would still want to rip on them, the best bet is to just ignore those people.
Did you read my "conclusion" on page 1? I said I will be willing to admit that Thomson is a better gm than Sherman IF the Packer win a SB within 4 yrs with Thompson as gm.

Yes, and Woodbuck said he'd be ecstatic if the Packers went 8-8 this year. It's a "what have you done for me lately" world, nobody holds anybody to what they say on the internet.
