Still not much pass rush by the front four.

they've blitzed a few times and hurried mat but the coverage has been great for the most part. now if they start playing soft (zone) the second half will be a long one.

Here we go. Sanders is going vanilla and giving up huge chunks of yardage.

Prevent is the worst gameplan ever. Why stop what's working well? Never made sense to me. So - you may give yp a TD - is that worse than always giving up tons of yards - hell no.

Way too early - and no lead is big enough today.

Why do teams play 'prevent' defense? I don't get it.

Read somewhere - but can't recall - but it basically showed that we haven't had many (handful) of sacks in the last 4 games.

Having huge runstuffers inside kinda negates your inside pressure on passes. That's why I miss Grady, he was collapsing the pocket by himself last week for the Jags.

I agree Grady looked good. Losing Jack Jolly hurt our ability to collapse the pocket.

Prevent defenses are geared almost exclusively towards stopping an extremely long pass. They are frequently used in obvious passing situations, such as a third-and-very-long situation, or to prevent a long score on the last play of a half, or when the defense believes that the offense must pass (for example, if the offense is trailing late in a game). Otherwise the prevent is almost never used. The defense trades size for speed, and tries to ensure that no receiver can get behind the defense. A prevent defense backs up the coverage so far that it will often give up long yardage, but it makes scoring a touchdown in a single play very difficult.
