    Updated version of the story...

LAS VEGAS (TICKER) —Oakland Raiders wide receiver Javon Walker was found unconscious on the streets of Las Vegas with an orbital fracture on Monday morning, according to the city’s Fox affiliate.

Apparently the victim of a robbery, Walker was taken to the Sunrise Medical Center’s Trauma unit where he was listed in fair condition, according to television station KVVU-5.

As for exactly how the talented 29-year-old received the injury is unknown, but Walker was seen at nightspot Tryst at the Wynn “spraying the crowd with some of the 15 bottles of Dom Perignon Rose champagne he ordered,” according to a report in the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Walker, who signed with the Raiders in the offseason, will step into the No. 1 receiver role vacated by Jerry Porter, who signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

A knee injury limited Walker to just eight games with the Denver Broncos in 2007. He had just 26 catches for 287 yards and zero touchdowns.

In 2006, Walker had 69 receptions for 1,084 yards and eight touchdowns with Denver, bouncing back from a serious knee injury that ended his tenure with the Green Bay Packers the previous season.

A first-round pick of Green Bay in 2002, Walker blossomed in 2004 with a career-high 89 catches and 12 TD receptions.

In six seasons with the Broncos and Packers, Walker has 252 career receptions for 3,815 yards and 30 touchdowns.

From what I heard, nothing went down at tryst to cause this. I trust the person I heard this from, but I find it really hard to believe that it was random. The area they found him ain't exactly the greatest area either, I can't imagine why he was there. Its almost like a parking area behind the imperial palace, I wouldn't let my wife walk around that spot in the dark thats for sure. Gonna be interesting as details come out.

Clarke also said Walker was at Body English at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino until 6:30 a.m. Monday and that his first round of champagne cost him $15,000.
Curious. The Hard Rock is about a mile south of where they found him. What was Javon doing walking that way? Why not go to the strip (where it is safe), one block over. I would imagine he was staying on the strip. If it wasn't 7 am I would suspect he was looking for a hooker.

Maybe they tossed his ass in a vehicle, beat the crap out of him, and just dumped him there.

Anyway, the kid needs to be much more careful. Is he out partying alone? If he was with friends, he needs new friends. And why buy expensive champagne and spray it over everyone? Buy the cheap stuff for that!

If this happened to me there is one place I'd look to place responsiblity and that is in the mirror. Javon will focus his blame on the people who attacked him because he's such an idiot. Same thing he did with the Packers. Same thing he did with the Broncos.

Natural selection is as bitch. It's not deserved in an "eye for an eye" sense, but it's deserved in a "life has gone on this way forever so don't be an idiot" sense.

For the record, I never hated Javon Walker and always thought he was one fo the hardest workers to come through Greenbay. His problem is that he is so damn stupid. Hopefully he doesn't have childeren.

I might take a swing at that bitch if he sprayed champagne all over me. I agree with most of the sentiment in here. I hate to see someone attacked, but you greatly increase the odds when you pull shit like this.
Chris: Dad, what's the blow-hole for?
Peter: I'll tell you what it's not for, son. And when I do, you'll understand why I can never go back to Sea World.

                  1. Some witnesses said that Javon's mouth was a big factor in the incident involving Williams. I'm not blaming Javon, but maybe he should think before he talks smack.

                  2. How do we know he didn't deserve this? At this point, we don't know anything. They are listing the incident as an apparent robbery. Apparent being the key word. God knows Javon isn't going to tell the whole story.

                  3. Javon is a turd, plain and simple. TT should get a lot of credit for PROPERLY dealing with him.

This is starting to look like a pattern of behavior. If you keep putting yourself in harms way, eventually the odds will have their way.

Fucking stupid. It's hard to say he didn't "deserve" this after he flashed an insane amount of undeserved money in front of hundreds of people and then walked through a secluded dark parking lot because he felt too important to mingle with people on the strip - apparently without any friends or hired protection.

I would say he didn't deserve it if he was retarded or something, and I know he is actually probably close to the medical definition of the term, but he's just an idiot. An idiot who has a penchant for pissing the wrong people off and then acting like he's just an innocent victim. I don't understand how his parents, who cared so much for his career while he was trying to flee GB, haven't hired a handler for him.

No, you're right we don't. He has just had a lot of problems since leaving GB and I'm glad that TT parted ways with him and that we have Jennings. That's all I'm saying.

He does have a lot to learn I thought the decision to trade him was in the best interests of both parties, and I wished Javon well with the Broncs. Unfortunately, it hasn't worked out for a variety of reasons.

Javon has made some poor decisions, but we don't even know the details of this incident. To be glad that he's been injured...there's absolutely no cause for that. I understand that many of you don't respect Javon because of the holdout, and some of you think he makes thoughtless comments. But he's not an a-hole. He's not a criminal. Relishing the injury is not called for.

I've forgotten the number of times I've been drunk while partying in Vegas. I mean good Lord, that's what that place is for.

I fail to understand how having his best friend die in his arms (something he will never get over), and now getting robbed, equates to ANYTHING concerning Thompson.

I also fail to understand why some here are such hypocrites. I guess when you are a muti- millionare, your suppossed to stay locked up in doors and never have any fun.........................

Spraying people in a club with Dom to flaunt your wealth, especially in Vegas, is a good way to wind up in the hospital the next day after an early morning trip through a dark parking lot. It isn't about limiting the "fun" factor...it is about acting mature and using your common sense.

Javon made himself a target with his own immature actions. Do you see Michael Jordan hosing down people in a club with champaign? When you are that wealthy, you are a target. Making a spectacle of yourself only makes it worse. Javon clearly hasn't learned that...which is what most are pointing out.

I forgot that the only way for 30 year old professional athletes to "have fun" is to go out acting like some hyperbole of a successful black man they saw in a rap video. I guess if you include activities that regularly lead to your friends being gunned down and your ass being beaten as "fun," then your idea of fun is different than mine.

There's a difference between having fun and acting like a fucking moron. Javon apparently can't tell the difference and it looks like some people here can't either.
