The only way to do that is to let him go. In Favres eyes he's doing whats best for the team where JWALK was trying to get more money.
The Sharpe thinks it is funny if the Favre would think the Favre knows what is best for the Packers. If so, the Sharpe thinks maybe the Favre should apply for the GM position and the headcoach position.

The Sharpe can't see how an outright release instead of a trade (or coming back to play for GB) is good for anyone by the Favre and the Cook. The Sharpe thinks the outright release request shows the Favre is concerned about the Favre first.
PackerTimer is in complete agreement with you.

        sounds like a trade
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

According to timelines I've read, Favre was wanted, but chose to stay retired when the first inkling of unretirement came up in late March. What's a team to do? Keep holding out hope that he changes his mind after he retires at a presser, then waffles, then decides to stay retired, OR move on and take him at his word? They kind of had to move on, which is why A-Rod became the man and why they drafted 2 QB's in this year's draft. If Favre had just decided to come back, we wouldn't be filling up this thread right now. He does give us the best chance to win now vs. Rodgers, but should the Packers become wafflers because Brett pump faked them? I don't know. Rodgers did nothing wrong in all this and I feel bad for the kid if he loses the job he earned through Favre's retirement. That said, if the team decided to bring Favre back to the active roster and he beat out Rodgers to become the starter, I still think it's the best thing from a winning football point of view.

            Skinbasket says, "WHAT?!"

            This:

For better or worse, he cannot do that in Green Bay. Favre needs to play somewhere else like a successful man in a mid life crisis who married the first woman who fucked him needs to hump a hooker.

What team doesnt require a preseason workout? We need to play that team.
You really are a dumb motherfucker. That is the best thing you can come up with? Preseason workouts?

Shut the fuck up, we are talking about preseason tactics here, which I didn't show up for either.

The SkinBasket still doesn't see what SheepOne is trying to say. Is It trying to say that no other teams want the Brett unit because he hasn't attended their off season camps? Does the SheepOne believe that makes the Brett unit inferior to say... the poorly manufactured Grossman unit or the obsolete Garcia unit?

The SheepOne speaks of following the SkinBasket's thinking. The SkinBasket believes the SheepOne to be without the appropriate map. The SkinBasket's thinking is that Brett unit wants to play football like a young unit again - without the pressures involved with playing for the city that views him as God's second son. The Bret unit wants to be able to succeed or fail without disappointing his legacy. The Bret unit cannot do that in Green Bay. The Bret unit therefore wants to move on to enjoy a season or two without expectations and obligations. There is your map woolly one. Read it.

cute, however, there is no such place, not in the NFL or CFL for that matter.

There is no place that is not Green Bay? The Legacy of the Brett Favre is interwoven with the Green Bay Packers. Seventeen years of tapestry including all of his accomplishments, failures, and everything in between. Simply disconnecting himself from said tapestry alleviates a huge amount of the self-imposed, fan-imposed, and franchise imposed pressure.

It would be sweet to bring Jerry Rice and Barry Sanders out of retirement with him and team up in Oakland. Let Fatty Russell learn from the legends of the 90s.

there is no such place that "doesnt" demand that their team put out a winner or demand that their players take part in pre-season conditioning. All 31 other markets and their fans are looking to win the super bowl just like we are. (why on earth do I have to spell this out?)

The 3irty1 believes that the Skin Basket was assuming that Favre wouldn't tell Favre's new employer that Favre intended on taking football less seriously since that would be dumb. Favre could probably get himself onto an NFL roster before showing that Favre intended on playing for fun with no expectations. 3irty1 believes there to be teams in the league whose quarterback situations are so dismal that Favre showing up in any capacity is an improvement and therefore the Skn Basket's story could be set in reality. Unfortunately for this hypothetical version of Favre, most of these teams are in the Packer's division.
