  • The "PoP" heard around the world.

As reported by Whats-his-face Mortensen, of the news organization formerly known as "the world wide leader in sports", NFL Commisioner Roger Goodell has finally put his two-cents worth into the "Favre Saga".

Having not actually read the story, I am just repeating what I have heard from "Anonymous sources". Apparently, Mr. Goodell flew to what used to be known as "Title Town", to straighten out the mess made by Packers GM, Ted Thompson. Having heard about Thompsons amazingly undeserved yet just as amazingly large ego, Mr. Goodell took two very large Defensive Linemen with him for what Mr. Goodell knew was going to be a very difficult task................. Pulling Ted Thompsons head out of his ass.

Considering the loud "popping" noise that followed (reported to have been heard from blocks away), we are assuming that Mr. Goodell (and his henchmen) were succesfull in their mission, although it has been reported that following the "popping" noise was what could only be explained as a very loud "SLAP". Assumptions around here, are that Mr. Goodell threw in a resounding "Bitch-Slap" for good measure.

It has been reported that Thompson immediately began making phone calls in his first attempts to do anything about the Favre situation to date, and that the Commisioner placed a phone call of his own.........to Brett Favre. Apparently Mr. Goodell told Mr. Favre, "if there is anything else that I can do for you Oh Great One........Just ask and it shall be done!"

I was gonna start my own thread, but here is:

Who the fuck does goodell think he is, telling TT to resolve an issue with a retired player. shouldn't maybe favre ask for a trade, or at least unretire before it is TT's move to make?? I mean the "release me" letter was a joke and everyone except favre knew it. What is TT supposed to do, trade his rights while he is retired and not committed so we have no leverage in said trade?? Maybe we could get a practice squad body for his retired rights, then that team could release him to play with the vikes....FUCK, is there no sanity left in the world. TT is doing exactly what he should be doing....nothing.

If a player can play a team can restrict his movement. It sets a bad precedent and can lead to wierd clauses added to the new CBA about players demanding release.

                  Nobody wins going to court.

Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.
