  • Training Camp Talk

Well, it's gotta be better than talking about Grant and Favre drama, right?

This was the funniest news so far this morning on the GBPG blog:

Four players served in the long-snapping role, including JJ. Jansen, Thomas Gafford, Ryan Considine and, believe it or not, Johnny Jolly. Both of Jolly’s snaps sailed over Ryan’s head.
Jolly's gonna be our replacement for Rob Davis. You heard it here first.

Why did they force Rob Davis into retirement anyway??? Didn't he want to play 1 more year???

I hope Jolly doesn't get ticketed for SUI--Snapping Under the Influence.

I think the NFL has a rule against leaning on a walker while snapping the ball.

Other notes from GBPG: Ruvell's kicking ass
-- Receiver Ruvell Martin had a pair of spectacular catches. On the first, he beat cornerback Jarrett Bush on a fly pattern. His feet got tangled with Bush, but he still made the catch from Rodgers, who made an accurate delivery. A few plays later, Martin jumped and extended himself to snag another Rodgers pass on a hitch route.
From M3's press briefing: Harrel is week to week with his injury and Pickett is day to day with a hammy strain that happened last week.

Rodgers was sharp in camp, but had one presnap penalty.

              Brandon Jackson looks great.

Not really, what does it mean?

One more thing from the Press Conference:

This is the healthiest the Packers have been at the start of Training Camp, with the fewest players nursing injuries during his tenure. Everyone passed the conditioning run, although one player cramped up.

M3 thinks it's because the team is so young.

The only position we keep getting hurt at seems to be the DT position which is a big one, it all starts up front

Yup, that's easily our biggest worry going forward. Then again, maybe Pickett's just fakin' it so he doesn't have to take the conditioning test. He's not our most agile guy.

From looking over the info, Swain had a lousy morning. He dropped a couple of passes and allowed Harris to get an interception by not looking back when the ball was in the air. Good to know Al still has the moves though.

Tory Humphrey also had a bad case nerves in his first practice back in a year. He missed a catchable pass from Rodgers, had a false start, and was taken out for Finley. Maybe he was worried history would repeat itself and he'd waste another year on IR?

Favre becomes long snapper and keeps streak intact?
