Gotta love training camp. Everybody is a star. I gotta say though, the Packers beat writers are usually pretty good at spotting the rising studs--Mike "Deion" Hawkins notwithstanding.
    Here's the full report:

    8:45 p.m.

Former Packers receiver Antonio Freeman attended tonight's practice. Freeman was chatting it up with cornerback Al Harris briefly and also was greeted by General Manager Ted Thompson on the sidelines.

Aaron Rodgers is putting on a clinic for pinpoint passing. During a 7-on-7 red-zone drill, Rodgers connected with tight end Donald Lee for a touchdown despite tight coverage from linebacker Tracy White. Later during a team drill, Rodgers nailed receiver James Jones with a perfect strike between defenders Joe Porter and Tyrone Culver. On the next play, Rodgers completed a perfect sideline pass to receiver Johnny Quinn despite blanket coverage from cornerback Scorpio Babers.

    8:25 p.m.

Defensive players continue to make plays on the ball during team drills. Cornerback Joe Porter knocked down a perfectly thrown deep pass from Aaron Rodgers intended for James Jones down the right sideline. Porter had perfect position and made the play.

Linebacker Tracy White also got into the pass-defensed act when he knocked down a Brian Brohm throw intended for fullback Korey Hall.

    • I could get used to this. Rodgers is looking good and defensive backs are looking good.

If we stay healthy, this is gonna be a damn good team.

      • Free wasn't the only ex-Packer on the sidelines.

Former Packers RB Dorsey Levens and G Marco Rivera were on the sidelines watching practice.

RB Ryan Grant (hamstring) and LB Desmond Bishop (Achilles) were in uniform, but did not participate. They were in pads as part of their rehab work.

Returning to the field Wednesday night were Wells, CB Al Harris, G Junius Coston and DT Johnny Jolly.

Besides Hawk, new to the list of players sitting out were TE Tory Humphrey (Achilles), WR Brett Swain (thigh), WR Ruvell Martin (head) and RB DeShawn Wynn (ankle).

Swain and Humphrey need to get back on the field if they want to make the team.
Um, and Wynn? You have to think this is the last straw, notwithstanding pictures of Thompson shaving his dog.

          • The starting offensive line was once again Chad Clifton, Jason Spitz, Scott Wells, Josh Sitton and Mark Tauscher. Second team was Daryn Colledge, Allen Barbre, Junius Coston, Tony Moll and Breno Giacomini.
I'm assuming Clifton, Spitz, Wells, Sitton, Tauscher, Colledge, and Barbre are safe. I'm assuming Giamocini is the new long-range prospect. That means that Moll and Coston are battling for the final spot. I'd think the fact that Spitz can play OC and Moll can back up Tauscher at RT likely spells the end for Coston.

            • It seems that Training Camp is pretty much over. They have moved into the regular season schedule with fewer competitive drills.

C-Wood had a good day today, with interception on both Brohm and Flynn. Brohm looked shaky again though... Driver dropped a few more balls today, hopefully he's just getting out of his system before the regular season. JSO says that Harris still looks hurt by his back problem.

The major news is that Ruvell is back in practice and seems fine. He mentioned in his interview that he's had concussions from playing before. Hopefully he won't start getting all Mike Tyson girly voiced on us now.
