  • McCarthy to "Get things off his chest" in meeting

According to a new blurb at 11am CST on Sportscenter, Wendy Nix said McCarthy told her he "had some things to get off my chest" when asked what the meeting with Brett Favre would entail. So what do you think that conversion will be like?

MM: Damn it Brett. What were you thinking? You really put us in a bind.
Brett: Sorry Mike, I couldn't stand it at home anymore.
MM: So why didn't ya take the money?
Brett: I already own 12 lawn tractors, besides Deanna keeps track of all the money. I never see it.
MM: So what the hell am I supposed to do now?
Brett: Can we still trade for Randy?

Snake's Twitter comments would be LEGENDARY.........if I was ugly or gave a shit about Twitter.

MM: No he is a patriot!
BF: How about Wahle I hear we could get him cheap.
MM: no BF you are a QB not a GM, I know I know you owned last year in Fantasy Football but its not the same!
BF: But im THE brett favre
MM: OK Ill buy you a copy of Madden '09
BF: Sweet! Can I trade AR?
    MM: No
BF: Am I a starter this year?
    MM: Of course
    BF: Sweet
    MM: you suck(under his breathe)
    BF: Huh?
    MM: nothing lets go practice.

I would like to hear that conversation. There have been several comments (nothing direct) from MM and from others with the Packers that make believe MM is extremely fed up with how Favre handled this off-season.

BF: You know now that I got out of offseason work I'm not gonna spend much time in the filmroom studying defenses or the gameplan right?

MM: Why would you, your a spoiled rich athlete that always gets his way.

These are funny, but in all seriousness MM will probably look BF in the eye and say "Brett, are you 100% committed to playing football and all the work that goes with it?" Brett's response and demeaner will be key in determining if Favre is on the practice field at 1265 tomorrow or not...

I think McCarthy is having this meeting just to delay FAvre's return to the practice field. Already the team is screwing him, he'll never get a fair chance.

MM and everyone else associated with the Packers should be more than fed up with Favre's antics this off season. He has put the team, team management, and the fans in a difficult and embarrassing position because he could not make his mind up, and because what HE wanted was more important than what was best for the team. I don't see any excuse for all of this from a grown man.
Sure, I change my mind sometimes, but I don't expect everyone else to bend over backwards to adjust every time I do. That is just childish and self centered.

MM: So Brett are you 100% committed to this team?
BF: Did you see all the fans w/ signs outside chanting my name?
MM: Brett, are you 100% on board?
                BF: Am I starting?
MM: If you're committed there will be an open competition.
BF: C'mon Mike. Did you see AR last night. "Solid??" Me and Deanna were laughing our asses off in the skybox.
MM: Is that why you came back?? (angered)
BF: Actually I was inspired by all the Youtube tribute videos for me as of late.
MM: Ted is pretty pissed by all this.
BF: Fuck him. So is Randy.

Dude, you're cracking me up over here.

I am not sure why M3 is still wasting time with the silly posturing when he knows damn well that everybody in America has heard about last night's clunker by A-Rod. They've already lost the PR war, so why keep fighting it? I like Woody's comments after the scrimmage, having only been with the team for two years he's still about to keep an objective perspective about the whole thing.

I think some of the comments have been fairly direct. His most recent public comment, something about "even now" there's some waffling or uncertainty, reads to me like a man who is p-i-s-s-e-d off. I think he's going to rake Favre over the coals - if Favre can't give a straight "Hell yes I'm committed, extra film work and practice and the whole shebang" answer, then I think Favre will be flying to Minneapolis in a couple of days.

Both sides lost the PR war. Personally, I think that the Packer's organization came out looking better. I don't see how Favre can look good after taking personal shots at the team's GM and coach and releasing comments made in personal conversations for no other purpose but to make the other side look bad.

The only way Favre loses the PR war is if he fails his physical or stinks up the joint after winning the starting role and gives M3 the pleasure of benching him. That can still happen, but the organization has definitely lost this phase of the battle.

I agree.. everyone media outlet I've listened to today has talked about how Favre has the upper hand and that the Packers backed down to him... pretty much calling them pussies... it kinda goes back to my other points... Brett owns this organization because they need him in the future after football... it all reverts back to money as lame as that is..
