    I didn't even know 4 was retired..

What's the only thing as weird as seeing Brett Favre playing for another team? Seeing him wearing a different number
Naw... Glenn Foley is a shitty QB they had...

It would be like us acquiring a new QB and someone here saying "i guess we gotta break lynn dickey's jersey out of retirement"

    get it?
Yep, got it. Hadn't heard of the guy

Well, Brett's going to have more endorsement chances in NY than Tampa.

It's business, anyway. If any team can get more in return from Team A than Team B, you go with the better offer.

Man, Favre better report to NY. Just get this over and done with...

Personally, I think Favre would've done MUCH better for TB than NYJ (depite his assertion that he doesn't like 'warm' weather - he needs it in the fall, WC offense, division title in '07, etc.).
The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have.

He was a better fit in Tampa Bay
He was more comfortable with Gruden
Tampa Bay is a better team
          TT didn't give a shit

Let's see how much "regular guy" Brett enjoys the fickle fan base of the Big Apple.

Watch out for the boos ........and snowballs.

Brett's been a drama queen for the last several weeks but is he ready for the biggest media market? Country boy goes to the big city. It's a strange fit IMHO. Square peg in a round hole.

Best wishes for #4. I'm sorry that his NFL career will end with another team. He had a chance to cement a defining sports legacy with a single team that would never be equaled again, but "the itch" and his ego got the best of him. Opportunity lost.

Thanks for 16 years of great Packer memories, Brett. You will be missed.

I'd of been fine with trading him to Tampa for less compensation if it meant both sides walk away happy....

                        Packers statement.....

"Brett has had a long and storied career in Green Bay, and the Packers owe him a tremendous debt of gratitude for everything he accomplished on the field and for the impact he made in the state. It is with some sadness that we make this announcement, but also with the desire for certainty that will allow us to move the team and organization forward in the most positive way possible.

We respect Brett's decision that he could no longer remain here as a Packer. But there were certain things we were not willing to do because they were not in the best interest of the team. We were not going to release him nor trade him to a team within the division. When Brett ultimately decided that he still wanted to play football, but not in Green Bay, we told him that we would work to find the best solution for all parties involved. We wish Brett and his family well.

We appreciate the tremendous passion shown by our fans. We, like them, always will see Brett Favre as a Green Bay Packer and our respect for him never will change. Moving forward, we are dedicated to delivering a successful 2008 season for all Packers fans."

i saw a couple jets sigs over on their forums that already photoshopped brett into a jets jersey... i guess its not too hard.

those guys would start literally killing people if this trade goes bad and he ends up elsewhere lol
