You guys are all over Bretts jock....GD the man is GONE let it go.
We made the right decision for the FUTURE of this team....Its amazing how ignorant people on here are (pete)
If Brett was around would that really help our defense not get scored on? or the injuries....for PETES sake

Its just crazy to say he would play better.....Do you remember seeing Brett in the cold in the playoffs last year. Two words ASS-WHOOPED he was hating it and the cold fucked him up. Wasn't for Grant we may not have won the Seahawks game.
And you can't say team moral would be down. You are in the locker room when?Normal is an illusion. What is normal for the spider is chaos for the fly. -Morticia Addams

The Packers run defense just got better.
Against run teams I'd go Hawk, Bishop, Poppinga
Against pass teams I'd go Hawk, Bishop, Chillar
Against balanced teams I'd lean toward better run D with Poppinga
IN obvious run situations I'd have Hawk, Bishop, Poppinga
In nickle I'd go Hawk/ChillarFormerly known as JustinHarrell.

We already have a 2nd Nick Barnett. His name is Brandon Chillar. The great thing about Chillar is that our coaching staff isn't idiotically stubborn enough to play him out of position so instead of having a puss in the middle, we'll now have a legit MLB with a great nickle backer / pass coverage specialist on the OUTSIDE.Formerly known as JustinHarrell.

The next move that has to happen is Wells has to be ousted from his Center position. His utter wimpiniess largely went unnoticed when we had unprepared rookies starting. Next to them he looked reliable because he acctually got in front of his guy and put up mild resistance. Usually one of the rooks olayed his guy into Brett's lap and Well's ineptitude went unnoticed. Now that we have 3rd year guards, you can see him for the zero he is.
Get him the F out of there. NOW. Football is a physical game, won most of the time by the more phsyical team. YOu cannot win when your guys get beat down by the opposition.Formerly known as JustinHarrell.

In the past, Wells was at least assignment sure. It's becoming apparent that the line is not hitting their assignments on passing downs anymore. Wells would be the guy making those calls.Originally posted by 3irty1This is museum quality stupidity.

Not to pile up on Wells, but have you ever listened to him. He's an idiot to go along with being a wimp for his position. A true football zero. I really don't like the idea of playing a rook, but screw it. Throw Sitton in there at RG and live iwth the mistakes. Inconsistent is better than consistantly bad.Formerly known as JustinHarrell.

It's pretty clear to me that this team is not playoff ready. If your DC/Defense cannot pinpoint one thing to contain you are not going to be able to do damage in the playoffs.
Let's just develop the players and see who we have. Maybe Bishop will do well.TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

Potentially interesting observation. Do you mean he's a jerk (not uncommon in the NFL) or that he's mouth breathing stupid? If the latter, that really could be a problem. Your center should be one of the smarter guys on your team. A C has signficant line-call responsibilities and has to be mentally quick, observant, a good student of film, and decisive. If Wells can't bring the mental wood, then he adds nothing at all to the line.Originally posted by JustinHarrellNot to pile up on Wells, but have you ever listened to him. I think JH was implying the later, but I think he's wrong. He's from Tennessee, and does speak a little slowly, with a drawl - but that doesn't mean anything. He was ranked the No 1 US high school wrestler - and you've got to be pretty quick thinking for that.Originally posted by NoodlePotentially interesting observation. I don't know that I want to see Hawk in the middle. He's become very important in coverage. I would rather see Bishop get his shot there.Originally posted by packers11Chillar Hawk Poppinga?
I think the coaches should try that instead of...
Hawk Bishop Popping.
However, in the interest of getting the best players on the field, what about Hawk Popp Chillar? Any reason Poppinga can't play in the middle?
As far as who they're going to pick up to replace Barnett, I don't think it will be an LB. We're already carrying more bodies than usual there, so I think we'll use our depth at that pos'n, and shore up another position.--
