FLorio at PFT has a blog post about Lurie talking to the Boston media (why Boston? no idea) and one of the things he said was that he was definitely interested in McNabb's return.
Yea, with a playoff run they almost have to now...
I'm surpised Jackson saw the playing field with Ferotte healthy.
Frerotte was healthy two weeks ago. This isn't breaking news. Also, if you look at the two games before he got hurt, Frerotte was absolutely awful. He's also a statue in the pocket. That's why he got a reserved spot on the bench.
Jackson was very good against the Lions, great against the Cards. About average against the Falcons. A bit below average against the Giants and absolutely shitty today.
I expected his mobility might help against the blitzes but he never took off and run until the game was over. Would Frerotte have been better? Probably since it couldn't have been worse.
Geez though, doesn't anyone believe in the old adage to use what got you there?
Frerotte won 8 games this year. You could be foolish and say what got you there is the AP and the Williams, but that would be blind and foolish. TJack had them, and he found a way to lose.
Starting Tavaris is the worst decision since some dough head in Buffalo put Rob Johnston in for a playoff game over Doug Flutie, based on a stellar performance in week 16 against a team that had wrapped up a first round bye...

Imagine for a moment a world without hypothetical situations...
He'd have been better than what they had this year but I think he'll retire.
And if the Vikes are wise, they won't touch Favre with a 50ft pole. That is a media circus that Chiily doesn't need. Besides the Jets won't release him anyway, so that is a moot point.
They have to get a friggen QB though. Either they get some retread every year or they trot out Jackson who swings wildly from good to putird, usually staying more on the negative side.
The reports of the Pats franchising Cassell lead me to believe that they'll be fishing for a Herschel Walker sized truckload of draft picks for one of the two. If I were a Vikings fan, this would make me an odd combination of nervous and optimistic.

Think so? I have a feeling they aren't gonna want his $13Mil for the cap this season and he'll stay undecided on his future forcing them to release him where he will wind up in Minny with Chilly who will be trying to save his job.

Chilly isn't trying to save his job. He just won the division title. Chilly is safe for a little while longer. Also, Zigi has seen the media circus and of course how his team got dragged into it with the tampering(Goodell swept that under the rug and everyone knows it).
As for the Jets, they have PSL's and the stadium to sell. They have already begun kissing up to Favfe in every way imagineable to get him to comeb ack. They sure as hell aren't about to release Favre. That would really be a balck eye for the franchise.

I don't buy this. TJack went like 8-3 for them last year, but he wasn't good. It's a fluke. Frerotte started off well, but he was killing them in the last handful of games.
"There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. But quite frankly, most of the people that are commenting on it don't know anything about what they are talking about."--Ted Thompson

The Vikings are a team that's set up to require minimal production from the QB position to really succeed. They need a guy who can make those throws that you expect any QB to be able to make, and a guy who will periodically step up and make a few plays in order to win close games, and a guy who won't occasionally, inexplicably, play like he's not sure which way his helmet is supposed to face. If you hacked up Frerotte and Jackson and assembled a quarterback out of their best features, you'd have that guy. But I don't think either one is that guy.
Jackson will periodically assume his receivers are 30 feet tall, forget which way his helmet is supposed to go, and otherwise make plays that would make Jr. High coaches shake their heads. Frerotte (and the series of other "caretaker" journeymen they've had in there) just have a low ceiling and just won't make the big plays they need to win some close games against good teams.
If I were a purple fan (and a pirate), I would be paying close attention to Booty (and booty) in the offseason. Heh... Booty.

So, you're saying its time the Vikes make a Booty call?
