Someone elsewhere wrote that property damage and strangulation likely mean there is physical evidence, which moves it one step away from he said/she said.

This was already a position of need, now need to find the replacement.

I don't wanna argue with any of your other points, but Ray Rice never "got to play" again. He punched his fiancée in 2014, settled with the Ravens for wrongful termination in 2015, pledged to donate his 2016 earnings to domestic violence, and did all the NFL Scared Straight-style barnstorming at the league's behest, but he retired in 2018 after never being signed by a team since the Ravens let him go in 2014.

There are some players that teams will say all the right and noble things about them and their courageous turnaround, but none of them will be the one to break the seal and sign them.

If Ray Rice still had something left in the tank, he WOULD have been signed by someone. At that point, though, his body was cooked.

Play again was wrong, but don't forget he was back with the team holding press conferences at their facility with his partner by May and that was after the public and the NFL had seen footage of him dragging her out of the elevator unconscious. He received a 2 game suspension with that evidence of the assault's results.

It took until September I think for the in elevator video of his punch to go public and then he was indefinitely suspended.

So video evidence of abuse is not enough to stop a career. It has to be a live shot of the actual blow that renders the victim unconscious, and I think this is important, it has to surprise and embarrass the NFL on its release.

This may hurt GB a lot more than just losing the player's performance on the field. Many players, coaches and staff have commented on Jacobs' leadership, attitude, etc. from the time he arrived in GB. This could change the locker room significantly, even if he does play again.

If it is as bad as it sounds from the charges filed, I think he is probably done in GB. They will gain significant cap space by releasing him.

The Packers not live streaming the LaFleur press conference is 100% pure cowardice. They stream every other pointless one. They want as few eyeballs on the Jacobs situation as possible. Pathetic.

They also cancelled player availability today for the press.

If Packers look to trade for a RB, Arizona is a possibility. Even before they drafted Jeremiyah Love with the 3rd overall pick, they had Tyler Allgeier, Trey Benson and James Conner. Also, Seattle has Zack Charbonnet and Emanuel Wilson, plus Jadarian Price who they drafted with the last pick of the 1st round. But you hate to trade from such a position of weakness.

For the Packers, besides Chris Brooks, Pierre Strong has the most experience with 499 rushing yards 2022-2024.

He has been released, with no charges, yet.

Josh Jacobs is being released from jail. The Brown County DA’s office isn’t ready to make a formal charging decision after reviewing available evidence. They have reason to believe additional evidence may exist that would impact whether/what criminal charges are appropriate.

It sounds like the DA thinks there may not be much to this. Hopefully that's the way it turns out.

It's way too early to panic - as many in here seem ready to do.

A call to the police is enough for an arrest, but there must be something more substantial to get a conviction. They are going to need evidence - injuries to the woman in question, damage at the home, video evidence (she is an 'influencer'). They don't have it now, but that doesn't mean they won't over the next day or two. Or maybe they won't find enough and this will just fade away.

People are reacting to the charges because they are serious. I don't want anyone to do such things, but especially not one of the Packers.
