Josh Jacobs Charged With Domestic Abuse

So nolo contendre - he admits to no guilt but does not contest the charges. Yeah, probably a six game suspension. So it'll be interesting to see if the Packers go outside zone, and if they do, how that goes. We're back to that square-peg-round-hole thing if that's the case and Jacobs shows up for week seven.

Jacobs can run in either scheme.

The woman was known to Jacobs. She was dating Caleb Williams previously according to internet snoops, who were aware of her instagram. She's an influencer of some type and had shown up in her feed like they were seeing each other. He couldn't have chosen worse for anonymity if he tried unless he found an unattached Kardashian.

He was trying to get in Caleb's head. He did....Caleb is laughing his ass off saying "I knew that bitch was crazy".

Judge denies victims motion to seal the evidence at the trial.

But its mostly procedural as the Judge (who seemed sympathetic to the claims) believed that the proper venue to seal any evidence that the victim did not wish to be made public was after the police receive open records requests.

Meaning it was a question left for a different path of the legal system. Any decision made by the police to release evidence can be contested by the parties involved.

From @NFLGameDay Morning: The NFL has officially requested to view the video of the Josh Jacobs incident, while the #Packers RB remains on the exempt list.

Jacobs should not attempt to block this. I don't think the NFL is reinstating him until they see that video.

This is a bit of a strange situation. Jacobs was not charged with domestic abuse as far as I know. We can argue why that was and if it is fair or not, but facts are the facts.

The legal issue has been resolved. The NFL spinning their wheels isn't fair to anyone. They should take the information available to them and make their decision. They are acting as if they are a judicial court with subpoena power. They aren't.

Give him six weeks, eight weeks, a year or lifetime suspension. I don't care. Just do it and get off the pot.

They are probably waiting to see if the video comes out incase it looks worse than the descriptions. Until then, being on the list is better for Jacobs because he gets paid. Up until week 6, it makes little difference for the Packers.

It makes a big difference to the Packers in knowing when or if they will get him back. He is effectively suspended now as far as the Packers are concerned on the field.

Getting paid is irrelevant to Jacobs because he has to forfeit the pay for the period he finally is suspended for.

The league has the information available to them as a public, nonjudicial party. Make a decision and move on. Nobody benefits from their indecision.

They can suspend him for life for all I care. Just get done with it. There is no reason to procrastinate.

Why isn't Puka Nacua on the suspended list and under investigation?

I can understand the NFL wanting to see the tape. If the tape is really bad, they don't want to put Jacobs back in uniform. They also don't want to suspend Jacobs for the season, or for life, and then have the tape show Jacobs didn't do anything very violent.

Nacua has been sued. I don't believe he has been criminally charged. Jacobs wasn't suspended until he was indicted by the DA.

They will likely fine him for those game checks or at least some portion.

Not sure about Nacua, but they don't want to face another Ray Rice sequence of events where he's punished for one thing and the video shows something completely different and worse. The NFL lost this precise matter in court as it constituted double jeopardy when they tried to suspend him again. That is when the invented the Commissioner's Exempt List (paid leave).

They will keep Jacobs in limbo as long as possible to avoid it embarrassing them.

Its a huge problem with due process as there is no way off it except to accede to the League's demands, which Jacobs cannot solely control.

Perhaps he should have provided the video to the NFL before he was indicted and the video became the property of the DA.

Rams left tackle Alaric Jackson will not face a felony charge after he was arrested on a domestic violence charge in June, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office confirmed to ESPN.

Jackson's case was referred to the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office. Ivor Pine, a spokesperson for the city attorney's office, said that the case has been assigned for a pre-filing diversion available to eligible individuals that is an alternative to misdemeanor criminal prosecution.

"Charges are not filed against the respondent at this time, however, the case stays open throughout the length of the statute of limitations. It can be re-evaluated if there are further developments," Pine said in a statement.

He was arrested June 8 on what police told ESPN was a charge for "a person who willfully inflicts corporal injury" against a spouse.

Jackson was sued last year by a woman who alleged he recorded her without her consent during sex, repeatedly refused to delete the video and taunted her with it. The woman reported the incident to the NFL, according to the lawsuit.

He was also subject to a previous 2 game suspension under the Personal Conduct Policy. Very few details were given for what precipitated that suspension. He had a lawsuit against him for filming a personal without consent, but the timing doesn't exactly match up.
