Josh Jacobs Charged With Domestic Abuse

This makes it more likely that if the video gets held back from public release or it doesn't show more than is known, Jacobs will be OK. I suspect the League will, at a minimum, fine and suspend him for games missed if it becomes public, hence, why both parties are asking the video be withheld. Probably.

It does create a perverse incentive for evidence to be withheld from the public so the perpetrator can continue with work, but that's what the law allows. This is what I suspected. But I'm still a bit concerned that Big Rog finds a way to suspend Jacobs further right on the eve of the playoffs. I'm curious though. Has the NFL CALLED the 6 games a suspension? Did we pay Jacobs (I believe I read we didn't). Its still a big distraction that didn't need to happen. Pack should have cut ties the day after it came out. Hopefully he can come in and help the team get some wins and it will all be worth it.

I believe there has been no suspension. He has been paid. If there is a suspension at some point, he will have to give back the pay of however many games he is suspended.

No, that's not Packer specific. They are retaining the right to fine him and suspend him if worse news breaks. Its to avoid the Rice verdict where Rice's longer suspension and fine were overturned on double jeopardy grounds.

The history just makes this worse but the time that has passed and the lack of investigations or police reports means not much will be changed in his case before the NFL. And unless pressed they are not going to want to root through a players past on the regular.

Packers should release him though. They can't afford to cough up more draft picks (reportedly a 2,3 and 4 like with McCaffrey from the Panthers to the 49ers) to get him.

With Love and Parsons contracts getting bigger this was supposed to be new window year 1 but its just not happening even if they cash in more of the future.
