Gute has a history of signing guys who are entering their prime not at the end of it so I have to believe he prefers Parsons.

And I have to say, as much as I think Garret is the best DL since Reggie, we definitely got a better value for our trade. Of course if the Rams win another Owl, who am I to say they did anything wrong.

The Rams can get out of Garrett's contract with no dead money after the 2027 season if they so desire. So really that is the reason for the xtra trade compensation and it really is a great trade for the Browns. In 2027 they can shed Watson's contract with a post June 1 designation.

Not sure why you pay extra to get out of a contract when you have a generational talent. In no world do they want to cut bait after 2 seasons. Also, they didn't have to pay the big upfront bonus, Cleveland did.

Unless you believe in Simpson as a top flight talent at QB, they could be rebuilding.
