Owners meeting was this week. Silverstein has some complaints.
1. Since Murphy did his last coach and GM renewals, the Packers have apparently bowed to the wishes of LaFleur and Gutenkunst and not released even the length of their contracts. Policy continued to refuse to answer that question through the meeting. According to Tom, Bob Harlan had to insist Ted Thompson release the length of McCarthy's first deal. Since its the principals doing the insisting, I doubt these are secretly double probation short deals. But its troubling this trend continues.
2. Packers are trying to get the city to slow down the negotiated rent increases for Lambeau. Their threat isn't to move but to go to the State and seen tax-payer funds to support the stadium upgrades. I can only assume a significant amount of this maintenance money is for storing the free weights when they change strength and conditioning coaches.
3. The rainy day fund is expected to top 1 billion after this year
4. The Packers reported a $1.1 million loss in profit from operations last year, the result of eating so many contracts and handing out large new deals. Both player costs and total revenues set records on increases of 4.7 percent (the article doesn't specify which number went up 4.7%, it says the other went up more)
