Back to Campbell. Aaron Nagler seemed to think that Campbell played well against Denver. But man, there seems to be no place for him on the 53. Not right now, any way. Hargrave, Wyatt, McClellan, Brooks, Brinson all ahead of him, and Ford and Stackhouse playing the base nose tackle position. Don't know what you do with this guy. Is "Warm" Karl Brooks really that much better?

For my money, yes, I'd like to move on from Brooks. I was thinking more like a 6th for him. I think you can find that 4th TE off the wires. We could REALLY use another CB that isn't a headcase. I still have my doubts about Nixon on the final roster. I could see him being "injured" the second he is unhappy. He is like Jaire (who he says really influenced him) except he hasn't made the same kind of money. He needs to ball out in a contract year, but I just don't think he is smart enough to realize it (much like Jaire didn't realize no one would pay him if he got out of his GB contract). The only time success comes before work is in the dictionary -- Vince Lombardi

That is a hell of a fakeout. He's be on the 1's since the offseason. I have my doubts about him as a starter in the 4-3 3 tech but a more 4 tech DT in a 3-4 might be more his thing?Originally posted by Joemailman View Post

Campbell has spent just a small amount of time with the 1s. They could be hiding him but man that would be a jump. He's a camp crush but even I don't see this.
Hargrave being setup to start with Campbell as his backup seems more likely in this event.Last edited by pbmax; 08-23-2026, 02:45 PM.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

But to keep Campbell, something's gotta give. You really can only afford to keep six. So if you keep Brooks as a 4 tech in this defense, whom do you get rid of? Not Brinson. Certainly not McClellan. Not Hargrave. And you've got to have a nose tackle, so Ford or Stackhouse or Jethro Crumedy (or whoever he is) very likely stays.
I would be really bummed if the Packers don't keep one true nose tackle. They'll get run over like Carolina did to them last year."The Devine era is actually worse than you remember if you go back and look at it."

I can see the argument for two even if unlikely; I think they think they need pass rushers more.Originally posted by Fritz View PostBut to keep Campbell, something's gotta give. So crushes were 3 for 3 this year, 2 on practice squad and 1 on the roster though Campbell might be looking at some game day inactives because of numbers (7 D Line on active roster) depending on Brinson's health.
They lost Perry, Simpson and Sheppard. Perry could have bad days in coverage even if he was collecting picks, he would have been a nice depth piece but not sure its a catastrophe. Simpson at outside corner looked possibly promising but the depth again seems to make the position stronger without him. With Sturdivant and Neyor, I am not despondent over losing Sheppard. He had the punt return but to my eyes it seemed the slowest punt return of all time.Last edited by pbmax; 09-05-2026, 10:26 AM.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. That punt return was 90% due to the blocking. Gives me some hope for the ST in general. Not sure I've ever seen a guy make the NFL with as poor a college football resume as Campbell. Pro Days matter.Originally posted by pbmax View PostSo crushes were 3 for 3 this year, 2 on practice squad and 1 on the roster though Campbell might be looking at some game day inactives because of numbers (7 D Line on active roster) depending on Brinson's health.

I suspect at some point they try to sneak him onto the practice squad to open a space. I think they viewed him as a likely waiver claim if he was released at cut down. Curious if they play him at all (he's 25) or they try to get another year of seasoning. Suspect he might see some pass rush snaps as second Aces unit if he is active.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Oh my....I unblocked Tex in time to catch him with using the wrong form of too. If you hadn't spell checked me a couple times over the years I would have ignored it.Originally posted by texaspackerbacker View PostNeyor really did the job. Sturtevant had bad luck with that head shot, but I think he's right there two. It might not be the type of education you think it is, Tex.
Mosqueda at ACME thinks the Pack will only make five d-linemen active for the Minny game: Ford, Brooks, Hargrave, Wyatt, and Brinson. So probably no glimpse of Campbell against starting-caliber offensive linemen."The Devine era is actually worse than you remember if you go back and look at it."

Is Brinson healthy? He was not practicing last week.Originally posted by Fritz View PostIt might not be the type of education you think it is, Tex.

I'd forgotten McClellan so I threw Brinson's name in there. Could be Brinson, could be McClellan. But the main point for me was that Campbell will likely not be active."The Devine era is actually worse than you remember if you go back and look at it."
