Exhale......we signed a FA, FS/SS Anthony Smith from the Steelers.

The Green Bay Packers have agreed to a contract with safety Anthony Smith, an NFL source said today.

I don't know why he's listed as a FS, he plays like a SS.

IMO he was brought in to compete with Bigby, with the loser backing up the SS position.

Rouse is pretty bad at SS, he's not a very instinctive player. He's played much better in the centerfield FS role.

Smith is a whole lot better than Peprah, and a fiery player. We definitely improved with this move.

I also hope he brings "the ability to call the defense" which will be an issue, at least early in the season.

Agree about Rouse. He played very well in 2007 when Collins was injured. Last year, not so much.
