Oh wait, they tried to go back to outside zone with players who were better at inside zone/power. I put some blame on Gute, but I put a lot of blame on the coaches and definitely some on the players. MLF/Steno/Butkus for playing all these games with the OL lineup and not developing the draft picks. Players for not being able to execute their assignments and having bad fundamentals. If you can't pick up a stunt with your linemate after a year (or more) on the squad then I don't know what to say.

I'd put it at something like 30% Gute, 35% coaches, 35% players.
I don't know about this. I'd actually put more of this on the coaches than the other 2. It was a total indictment on this OL coaching staff when players were talking about, after just the first day of Zeitler being on the team, how they were asking him a bunch of questions.

I would need to know more about the questions. Were they about the information Zeitler was offering up (which he said he was doing)? That makes sense. Was it about their own calls? Very different matter.

I think the failure hinged on Banks and counting on him to be available. If that happened, they simply need to find one Guard which is not too much to expect. Needing 2 and then subbing for ZBB was too much youth at one time.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.
