According to Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com, Stafford’s deal is worth $78 million over six years, with $41.7 million guaranteed.

Rodgers has 6 years, 65 mil with 40 coming in the first 3 years and 20 guaranteed. Rodgers is ready to play right now though. His prime starts next year and he's already proven he's at least really good.


This guy gets 78 with 40 guaranteed and it's going to take at least a year, probably two or three before he's ready to play up to that contract. It mgiht never happen. Crazy. I would not want the top pick unless it was a once in a decade type player. You can't even consider making Curry the highest paid LB in the NFL before he takes a snap. Freaking nuts.

Several Points to make here:

1. Happy day for Packer fans. Stafford is a bust! Pure and simple. He makes careless decision after careless decision. I am very happy that Detroit wasted their pick and all their money on this scum bag.

2. Stafford is making way too much money! My God! How can the NFL keep paying these no-bodies this much. Aaron Rodgers deserves way more then Stafford! This problem needs to be fixed ASAP! What a joke.

I've heard retirees like Harry Sydney say he's OK with it, because the team is showing they want to win. HUH?!

Any vet that thinks a snot-nosed junior QB should get the same as most of the starting QBs in the NFL should get their heads checked.

Even if he is a can't miss QB, considering the economic hellhole that is the US auto industry, it's beyond belief that the Lions would pay that much jack for a player.
