That is correct. Another example would be your penis.

              We're a perfect couple then.

If Favre tries to show up TT, MM and the GB organization, we will see a bunch of interceptions and the Packers could win. If Favre maintains his control, is willing to play as a complement to Peterson and the running game, the Vikings will win.

                  Keys to the game:

                  1. Favre's mental attitude and/or Bevell's ability to keep him under control. And I do mean Bevell, not Childress, Kevin Rogers or anyone else. Bevell knows Favre, how he reacts, how he can lose focus, and what is needed to keep him on track. Although, realistically, those who did it the best were Tom Clements and Mike McCarthy. I don't think Bevell ever did under Sherman.

                  2. Colledge has to play very well at LT for the Packers to have a chance. More than the defense stopping Peterson, more than any other player except Rodgers, for the Packers the game hinges on Colledge. I have never been a supporter of Colledge as the LT of the future.

                  3. For the Packers to win, their special teams have to outplay the Viking's special teams. Not play them to a draw, outplay them.

                  4. The Packers will need a touchdown on defense or special teams to win.

The Packers have not started seasons particularly well under McCarthy. The Vikings seem to get out of the gate better under Childress, but haven't always finished well. I expect the Vikings to win at home on Monday. Would I bet money on it? Absolutely not, because I think a lot of the pieces are in place on the Packers, and they will have a good season. The question is when will they put it all together. I do not see them doing it this week.

On a side note: The Vikings tend to finish poorly, so they pick up Favre, who tends to finish poorly. A marriage made in heaven for Packer and Bear fans!!

                  Thanks Patler!

Thanks very much for your post, Patler, I especially zeroed in on Colledge and the O in general, I am rapidly losing (or maybe did already) any faith
in the upkeep of our O line and the habitual game of musical chairs. Will it ever stop?

Hopefully, Clifton will be back and in good enough shape to help *shore* things up. Where have we heard that phrase before ???

and strangely validate what MM was trying to get him to do the whole time

I'm not sure what you are implying by this, but it shouldn't be shocking because they had a great deal of success when MM reigned him in imo. I think Favre probably was very grateful for it as he saw how successful the team could ultimately be.

I would have to think he wishes he had protected the ball better in his earlier years. Who knows what the team could have accomplished in the early 2000s.

Outside of the last three games he has played, have you ever seen a sign that Favre truly wants to change his throwing game?

He is willful, dominant and stubborn. When McGinn praises him, he starts by saying his will to win and compete is greater than he has ever seen before. That he would never bet against him. That's saying something coming from McGinn.

But after Holmgren, as Patler said, the only people to get to him value possession were McCarthy and Clements. And they got to him for one season. Ironically that season ended, in part, because of an INT.

The truly remarkable part of Favre, outside of his intense desire to always play and win, is his willingness not the be the center of the offense. Very few complaints were heard out of him while Ahman was having career years and Favre was throwing it less and less. Very few top of the line QBs would be willing to play second fiddle. Favre was and probably is.

I don't think the threat to the Vikings season (and Favre's) is that he won't be willing to subsume himself to the running game. I think he will. The threat is when he has to throw to win. Then old habits will die hard.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

My keys to a Packer win
1-offense--They need to get the TE more involved in the O-gameplan.

2-defense--They need to force AP to beat them. Don't let Brett.

                            3-ST-Crosby can't miss any fieldgoals.

This would assume that they bothered to try and get the TE's involved at all.
