Depends on who you listen to I guess. http://www.gbnreport.com/top100.html has Dez Bryant....11th overall.
I don't know who made that list but Demaryius Thomas at #44?

The Move The Sticks (former scout) guy thinks anyone dropping Bryant to the second round is funny. He points out that lots of immature WRs succeed, as opposed to QBs.

He has him going 16th to the Titans.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Well, if you didn't make a ridiculous, out of left field reach that defies conventional wisdom, you shouldn't be drafting for the Raiders.

Why not? Have you seen the guy play? He played with one of the worst passing quarterbacks in the country in an old school option wing offense. Absolute horrible situation for him from a developmental and production standpoint.

The guy's route running isn't very refined as he didn't have to do much but go long but I kid you not, he comes down with just about anything even remotely close to him. The guy battles for balls like Randy Moss did when he was young. Amazing catch after amazing catch.

That's 'why', not 'why not' ...

Or I'm confused ... or you're saying something about Randy Moss and how we wouldn't want someone with a similar skillset or ...

                Or ... um...

                edit -

(You think he's going to go higher? I never considered that was your ' ' )

                • I think Thomas be the first WR taken in the draft. Being suspended for most the season and not participating in the combine has really hurt Byrant's draft stock even though I think he'll be a stud WR (think A. Bolden).

Then again who knows....still awhile to go til the draft.

Yeah man he's a beast. If he can smooth out his turns in and out of breaks he can be a bigtime #1 guy. If not, he'll be one of the scariest deep threats in the NFL and probably have a decent career as a #2-4 type of situational guy.

I don't think he has "bust" potential. Teams know what they're getting with him, plus he's a Tech kid (high character). It's just a matter of if he can run all the routes.

I don't know jm. I don't think I can wait that long. Isn't this precisely what teacher prep times are for?
I wish I could use prep time for something other than prep but between classes, On-the-Job reviews, BPA, and Anime Club I'm lucky if I get out of school prior to 6:30 on any given day. The life of a first year teacher, hopefully it will pay off next year.
Ever think about coming to Alaska to teach? Even for a short (3-4 years) period of time? Do you have a Masters?
I can honestly say I haven't though isn't it colder there than in Minnesota? Are the schools nice? I'm taking it there is a demand for teachers? I don't have my masters yet. I have an undergraduate in Accounting and Business Admin (Finance) and I have 30 graduate credits which got me my teaching license a few years ago; subbed last year. I was in treasury for about 8 years before making the switch.

NFLdraftcountdown still has him ranked 4th overall as well. If he wouldn't have gotten into academic trouble he would be the clear cut #1 consensus WR. He has lots of talent; probably more than any other WR in the draft. The big question is does he have a light bulb upstairs. I think need meets value for the Broncos at that spot and either way the Broncos get insurance for Brandon Marshall's trade or meltdown, whichever comes first.

He was suspended for lying about going to Deion Sanders house, nothing to do with academics. Word is Deion was trying to convice him to sign with his agent even though they deny anything happened.

Fair point, I thought it was for academics but you're right. Not that I think it really changes anything.

                                Bengals tip hand with workout?
Cincinnati offensive line coach Paul Alexander put Indiana offensive tackle Rodger Saffold through an intense workout during the Hoosiers' Pro Day Friday. Some throughout the league are taking it as a sign the Bengals are very high on Saffold and potentially likely to draft him.

Coaches traveling to Pro Days to work out players is hardly a newsbreaking event, but the Bengals, perhaps because they have the smallest scouting staff in the NFL, tend to rely heavily on the opinions of their coaches on draft day.

It was Paul Alexander, sources tell me, that supplied the primary argument for the team selecting Andre Smith with the sixth pick of the draft last year.

I was told of his preference before the draft, which is why I correctly predicted the Bengals would select the enigmatic blocker.

Saffold, according to sources, was very impressive in the workout.

Saffold impressed scouts throughout the season, but really stepped up his play during the week of practice at the East-West Shrine Game. I believe he would have been the best tackle at the Senior Bowl, had he been invited to Mobile.
02/25/2010 - Who's the best pass rusher you faced? "The best pass rusher I ever faced was (Wisconsin's O'Brien) Schofield. Real big speed guy. He is lighter but his inside moves were really crisp. Just being able to have that speed and have that counter speed is really beneficial to him. Did he get the one sack against you? Yes, he had the one. How many did you give up in your career? I believe it was 14, but just one in 2009. Who have you talked to? I talked to a bunch of different teams. Talk to the Jaguars, the Bills, the Colts, and a bunch of other guys. Also talk to the Dolphins, talk to the Falcons, talk to the Raiders, talk to the Chargers, and I have many more interviews tonight. You've started 41 consecutive games. Have you seen about all there is to see at left tackle? Pretty much. I haven't seen a lot of 3-4 defenses but I've been able to see a whole bunch of different things and basically I'll be preparing myself for those type of defenses once I play in the NFL. - Rodger Saffold NFL Combine Media Transcript
                                Thanks Ted!
