I have heard and read that one of the concerns now about Bryant is his attendance at classes. Presumably, that means it was spotty. Not exactly the death knell for an NFL player, but someone is floating that rumor. Its supposed to be one of the reasons he is falling.

With the 13th pick in the NFL draft the 49ers select running back C.J. Spiller from Clemson University.

Adding a tackle to the mix helps the offense, but the unit still needs more playmakers. Spiller is as explosive as they come and has the ability to complement Frank Gore very well but also is a factor as a receiver and on special teams.

Interesting. I would expect them to take the tackle first and hope to get Spiller at 17 if that's who they're looking at. Giants & Titans wont' take him unless you think Seattle would be interested. Not that you're wrong, but what was your thought process on this one knowing they have another pick 4 spots later? Unless of course you want to tell us 4 picks later when you draft their 2nd player.

I thought about that but didn't think he would last til the 17th pick, which I think Red answered that for me.

Besides the 49ers already have a good young LT in Joe Staley and believe they could find a RT later in the draft.
