Seattle (gbpackfan) is now on the clock
Interesting. I would expect them to take the tackle first and hope to get Spiller at 17 if that's who they're looking at. Giants & Titans wont' take him unless you think Seattle would be interested. Not that you're wrong, but what was your thought process on this one knowing they have another pick 4 spots later? Unless of course you want to tell us 4 picks later when you draft their 2nd player.
I thought about that but didn't think he would last til the 17th pick, which I think Red answered that for me.

Besides the 49ers already have a good young LT in Joe Staley and believe they could find a RT later in the draft.
no i wanted him to last until 23

i've seen plenty of mocks that have the 49ers taking him there

i also don't hink he would last to the 17th pick. in all honesty, i'd be shocked if pete carroll passes him up with the 14th pick.

carrol made a god out of reggie bush in his system. IMO spiller = bush, but can go up the middle. i think pete's drooling over that thought

if the 49ers want him, they need to take him early.

and for that matter don't be completely shocked if the seahawks take spiller at #6

    • The pick was going to be Spiller here for Seattle. But since the 49ers picked him, things get interesting. Morgan, Berry and Hayden were the other players I was considering but since they are also gone; it makes this decision easier.

Seattle's pass rush is a joke. So after addressing OT with their first pick, they go DE here. This player is still raw but has all the tools to be a perennial pro-bowler.

With the 14th pick in the NFL draft, the Seattle Seahawks select..........JASON PIERRE-PAUL - DE - SOUTH FLORIDA.

Would that be Jason Pee-Pee for short?

          • giants take the best ILB in the draft based on need

Rolando McClain, Alabama. man is a proven winner and leader

i was also thinking about brian bulaga here. they have a decent RT that they drafted last year, and the talk is he'll move to LT this year. but that would leave a hole at RT. why not draft a real good LT and leave the other guy at RT?

                        • If we want to do 7 rounds, we should first:
                          1) Wait until compensatories are announced (any day now)
                          2) Wait to see how long it takes for us to figure out the Packers pick in round 1.

If it takes a while to figure out the Packer pick in round 1, where everybody knows all the prospects... think of how bad it will be in the 6th round where 50% of us know 25% of the prospects.

                              • no way can we go 7 rounds, it's going to take us over a week to do the first round

and those are all the players we know

by the middle of round 2 we'd be making up names
