Nonetheless, Favre really seems to be more concerned with his image than he pretends, and if any evidence came out that the story is true, it would be a huge blow for a guy whose narrative has been that of the bildungsroman - the young buck who undergoes trials and tribulations (meaning that he's a young horn dog) but learns his lesson and discovers the meaning of true love and selflessness and all that.
He'd have to change the narrative to the old "I'm just human and I'm humbled and now I'll be better than ever." This was Tiger Woods's attempted narrative, but in order for it to succeed his wife would have to stay with him and he'd have to play better golf. A comeback's not a comeback unless you are victorious on the home front and the competetive front. A tall order.
